Montreal Closing in on Dubois. (E4)
The Kings have had interest in in Pierre Luc Dubois, but it really appears Montreal is willing to give more and is more comfortable that they can sign him long term…

I'm surprised at how little interest the Habs management really had for Dubois. The fact a Montreal second rounder was included is quite amusing.
Apparently playing for LA was PLD's dream:

Kotka, where he was born, has much warmer winters than a lot of the U.S. Midwest does, actually. Its climate is a slightly cooler version of Vancouver's and nothing like Winnipeg's. Notwithstanding that, they'll all love Winnipeg like most people do when they actually live there.... Kupari was rushed too soon but may thrive in 3rd line role with the Jets! At least he won't complain that the weather is too cold in Winnipeg like a lot of the American players or that he he's being taxed up the yin yang
I mean the whole deal, mainly from the Kings perspective, but that's funny too I guess. The fact a Montreal second rounder was included is quite amusing.
Dubois is very marketable which is something that will be of more value in LA than it was in Winnipeg where hockey players are all instant celebrities anyway. I think it's a great trade and hopefully PLD will be consistently as good as he was some of the time with the Jets. They'll absolutely be contenders if he is.Steep price, but Kings kind of had to go after someone like Dubois. Kopitar is 35.
Feels like a good fit.

This trade opens up a few opportunities for some of the Kings prospect, since the Kings traded 3 roster forwards.Steep price, but Kings kind of had to go after someone like Dubois. Kopitar is 35.
Feels like a good fit. It's mainly a move for the future years, but also gives the Kings a nice boost to contend next year while Kopitar is still a capable player.
I didn’t know Vilardi have signed. Iafallo was pegged to play on our 4th line as he was redundant. At 4 million a year it was a heavy price. I know PLD cost a lot but at least he will be on the 2nd line and we have a true center to play with Fiala.I would rather have Valardi, Iafalo and Kupari than PLD. An entire line for the price of PLD.
Yet your fan base was offering that 31st pick and your B/C prospects picked in the early 2nd like it had some high value. Which is it?And the 31th and 37th picks this season won't even make the NHL so what's your point?
The entire 4th line, though I’m indifferent to JAD, needs to be moved. Too much money. Not enough size or toughness. Let MacEwen and Andersson walk. This trade opens up a few opportunities for some of the Kings prospect, since the Kings traded 3 roster forwards.
Line 1 LW Byfield C Kopitar RW Kempe
Line 2 LW Fiala C Dubois RW Kaliyev
Line 3 LW Moore C Danault RW Arvidsson
Line 4 LW Anderson-Dolan C Lizotte RW Grundstrom
LW Lias Andersson ~ RFA* and RW MacEwen ~ RFA
LA might choose not to qualify Lias or Mac therefore opening up a spot or two for the prospects if injuries occur.
Love the first three lines absolutely hate the bottom line. I want a physical bottom threeThis trade opens up a few opportunities for some of the Kings prospect, since the Kings traded 3 roster forwards.
