I just really want to hear the FO discussions leading up to this trade.

How exactly does anyone rationalize doing this? This feels like nothing more than a “he’s our guy and we will pay any price to get him” move. That’s not managing.

The rationalization is probably...

Vilardi is one more back injury away from his career ending and we can get a 60 pt power forward who is 25 for spare parts.

I guess I thought Blake was a good GM. Maybe I’m overrating the skaters going back to Winnipeg?

The d spots will likely be filled by youngsters.

LA fans might be fine with Copley as the back up, but I sure as shit wouldn't be.

They'll need a decent goalie around 3 mill.

I'm assuming Arvidsson is traded.
I'm not fine with Copley. He won games which is all that matters but he didn't look that great in doing so.

Better be hitting 30+ and 80+ for that type of money but I like the value a lot for LA just iffy on that AAV.

WPG loses another trade, not entirely their fault as player wanted out.
Way to early to say

If LA gets another cup w kopitar and Vilardi takes a step forward and stays injury free it’s pretty win-win for both sides

No one should have to “lose”

You could just name the title like Vilardi vs Dubois extended. The rest has no value. Good trade for LAK.

I figured as much, but I didn't want to seem like a jaded Habs fan.

Cap wise, this year the trade didn't make sense for them.

I guess LA could get Reimer cheap and he can be solid at times.
