Now when the Kings are winning I am surprised it hasnt been closed yet...

Typical HF. Kids all over the place, trolling, fortune tellers/whiners all over the place and after a bump: closed. Its not allowed to call them out. This place pretty much sucks.

I was actually hoping for that. Now we have to pay big $$$ while you could have known he would break out this season.

DL wanted to do an LTC but couldn't because of the CAP and Kopitar. When TT signed that deal, DL made a comment to that effect that he was grateful TT settled for that , and that was all they could afford.
Not easy for him, going forward, with TT and TP among others, that need new deals. I wonder due to the uncertainly ofthe CAP, if DL will offer TT (who will be 25 when the new deal starts) an LTC or something more like 5 or 6 yrs.

And on the TSN podcast I listened to earlier this morning, they said that the Kopitar talks have really slowed down. Apparenlty neither side is willing to budge on $$ and the gap is 'fairly significant'.

He's his own worst enemy. He can't finish now, for some reason. He gets all jittery and fumbly and he can't finish at all (in the slot, at the goal, etc.). I've come to expect some kind of ****-up when he gets the puck.

Damn shame. He needs to settle down before he's going to score much.

It's a like a teenager trying to get a bra off

Edit: By teenager I mean me....present day...at 31....I get boob nervous

which is why if there is a market for Gaborik I think we need to deal him after this season.

What has Carter done to get punished?

Saw a stat posted on Twitter about Brown having 12 goals in the last 100 games.

That's a scoring pace one would expect from a Trevor Lewis and not from a guy making close to $6M per year.

But he's trying really hard.

-He goes to the front of the net and gets right on top of the goalie. Unless he defects it in, it'll be difficult for him to get a rebound. Like on Pearsons goal the other day. Pearson was a couple feet out from the net and managed to jump on the puck when Brown was tied up at the crease.

-He doesn't go to areas to get open for high quality shots, see Toffoli/Carter. It's all low quality shots right at the goalie and hoping for rebounds.

-Brown isn't laying guys out at this point. A lot of his opportunities came from knocking guys on their ***** in the offensive zone, creating brief 2 on ones by the net. Also he used to be more of an agitator and get guys off their games. The other team would get out of position trying to hit Brown and would stop focusing on playing hockey.

So bail on the high volume of low % shots and go to quite areas like Toffoli and work on your one timer, or start hitting. By hitting I mean laying a guy out where you take him out of the play, and piss off the other team.

I don't expect either to happen. He'll keep trying hard though.

Can you provide a link to the podcast?

While the entire hockey world is frothing over Tarasenko, Toffoli is silently dominating. Hopefully this entire team flies under the radar this season.

No one will notice what we're doing until something happens that they can gloat over, like Quick hurts their fantasy team.

Works for me. I like to fly under the radar*.

*Flying under the radar = people willfully ignoring anything positive from the Kings

Just cause media and fans don't give LA the time of day doesn't mean other teams do not. Most teams know how good LA is.

Much like according to many players the hardest center in the west to play against is Kopi.

And Doughty is having a very good season. Within the top 10 in scoring and playing almost 4 min a game on the PK.

Other players, GM's and coaches full well know both how good this team can be. And for 6 games now they have been showing it. Just hope they continue to play this way more often than not.

Call me an idoit but I did read that Doughty played like crap and Carter, Tofs and Brown were the only players who showed up for more than 1 game/2 games. This didnt only happen during the first 3 losses but in this winning streak as well.

Now I understand we have a truckload of posters here and winning changes a lot but this is very odd. Are we watching different kind of games ? Borderline personality disorder by some ? Too emotional ?

Personally I think Doughty hasnt been great at all. Even last night he made a couple of sloppy backhand passes. Ehlers goal started with him as well.

I honestly think there is nothing more annoying than a sports (doesn't even have to be hockey) fan that's constantly filibustering with why their team or this player is so good. I find this quite often with Ducks fan where they need to explain to you why their team is better than the Kings and what not. There is one particular guy I play hockey with who is always giving me an earful about the Ducks although he's gotten quiet lately. Not sure why? But it's almost like he wants me to concede they are a good team when I don't care. The Kings win the Stanley Cup a few years ago after beating the Ducks in the playoffs and he's blabbering about Jack Adams or GM of the year (forget which). I told him "I'm a Kings fan and they just won the Stanley cup, I don't care about the Ducks".

You're an idiot ;)

Drew kind of ramps it up when he needs to. He's the epitome of the Kings - play up or down to the competition. Just wait for the playoffs. No worries here.

Lucic looks good since moving lines. I'm impressed with his passing, especially coming out of the zone. Like a hold-up striker in soccer, he has the ability to use his big ass to shield d-men pinching and putting a back hand pass right on the tape of someone to get the transition game going.

If you want to pick on plays you can do that all day long for every player. Since every player will make mistakes and ones that will be costly. Example: the second line has been scoring tons but they have also been getting stuck in the D zone a lot. Does that mean there play is terrible?

It's funny how people can see the same things differently. That is the only part so far that has frustrated me with him. 3 games in a row he's gotten the puck along the boards at the blue line and couldn't get it out. It's nitpicking cause he's been great everywhere else but I do cringe a bit when he gets the puck near the blue line.

Hard to call out someone who plays almost half the game. Only thing I would call Drew out on is maybe maybe his abilities as a PP QB. I think he is better used on the powerplay as the guy who bombs shots not the guy who sets everything up. This is how he was used on team Canada and it worked pretty freaking well

I know TT had the puck and was being pressured so he obvisoly was not at top speed, but I was impressed that Lucic was able to keep up with him on his goal last night.

An elite defender shouldnt make too many mistakes that results in opportunities and I just pointed out one example. No goals so far either, no posts, all shots wide.

Everyone is seeing he isnt having a very good just yet. You can not go from ''bad'' to ''very good this season'' in just 2 games, especially if he made 3 obvious mistakes this last game. Lets say he is solid.

Toffoli and his season so far outweighs the fact he's getting stuck in the zone a lot. So far I dont have this feeling with Doughty.

We all know nobody can play flawless hockey. Though Doughty is capable of doing that. I am okay with him, just dont agree that he's having a very good season, just because we are winning now...

Here's an interesting stat for you both Doughty and Toffoli have the same amount of shots this year at 22. It's just the Toffoli is shooting lights out at 31.8%, which won't last. And when his shooting dries up, which it will, you likely won't be as nonchalant about that line getting stuck in the zone.
As I pointed out Doughty is playing almost 4 min a game on the PK 3:53 to be exact. He's spending a ton of energy there. So his ice time is down but his hard ice time is way up, last year he was at 2:38 on the PK. I'm less worried about his play that the fact of the amount of penalties this team is taking.
