Just cause media and fans don't give LA the time of day doesn't mean other teams do not. Most teams know how good LA is.
I've noticed this as well. We get a ton of respect from players on other teams all the time. On the other hand, the media and opposing fans largely ignore us or talk **** about us whenever their garbage team loses.

With that said, I agree that it's more important to find out what McDavid's favorite poutine topping is and if he had a watery BM this morning.

BTW, what is up with the schedule.

The Kings play twice on the road in Edmonton and Winnipeg, fly almost 2k miles back to LA to play one game against Nashville and then fly back another 2k miles to play in Chicago and St. Louis on back to back nights before returning home again.

Seems a bit ridiculous to have that one home game to break up what should be a basic 4 game road trip.

Later on we get longer roadies, but I agree. I dig the schedule in general this year, it's about as favorable as any single team can ask for.

The schedule has no bearing on how a team plays (excluding back to backs).

Just found it odd that the Kings would fly back from the midwest after two games to play one home game and then fly back to the midwest for two more. Didn't seem to make sense logistically. If the Kings lose to Chicago and St. Louis it won't be because of the schedule.

Of course not, it will be the refs fault!

Can't blame it on the refs until we take them out of our pockets!

Yeah, the schedule maker looking to save money on flights is getting written up for that one!

No, guys, you see, Bettman purposely scheduled LA to have an advantage, at all times. And on all of our back to backs the team gets to rest in a hyperbolic time chamber

what I find most interesting/endearing is that the Kings get enormous respect from other coaches as well. almost every time a coach is interviewed pre or post game against LA, they give the Kings credit in some fashion. when Maurice was talking with the media re:the Kings I couldnt help but smile

Yep.

Willie Desjardins, a coach of a team who has had multiple high first rounders recently, couldn't stop praising Manchester and their banners showing Kings roster players who have won a cup after developing there.

The NHL knows the score. Most of the other crap is blind fan hate or media ignorance.

Quick's last five games -

5-0
.961 SV%
.99 GAA

We saw similar numbers at the beginning of last season, with the Carter line the only one that could score as well, but, it sort of feels like the team is playing better as a whole this time around. They'll have to make that part last longer this time.

There are fans on the main board calling Price, generational...lol. I'm sure it's part of the same group who called Karlsson generational too.

Please when was the last time a coach on the air said anything but good things about the other team. I have seen coaches being interviewed after the first period leading 4-0 and they say that team is a very good team and we made some mistakes were going to have to correct if we want to win this game. blah blah blah.

the last time the Kings played....against Winnipeg

he said the Kings play a smart, patient and heavy game. the Kings are successful because they are the best at what they do, and they know how to win games.

I get what you're saying. Opposing management staff have commented on the Kings in a positive light in interviews when not even facing them. Just using them as a point of reference. And hey, for good reason. If you're trying to model after a proven winner, you've got two choices. The Kings way or the Hawks way.

They're winning on the road. They've won in OT. They're killing penalties. They have a winning streak greater than 2 games, something that we rarely saw last season.

It's a much better start than last season.

Our top line does have points as well, just not as on fire as the 2nd which is also different.

Yep, and early last season they were winning games while being outshot routinely. They finally turned up their possession game as the season went on, but that meant diddly come OT shootouts. Kings are on top of the league in possession metrics already. The hallmark of Cup contender Kings teams in the past has been being a good road team being good on the PK and they weren't either last season.
