I'm worried less about Kopitar's points/goals and more about his all around game. I thought he was fantastic gaining the zone, particularly on the PP, and he was doing good on the walls shrugging off checkers especially considering bigger guys like Weber and Jones, but the guy is allergic to taking ANY risks like a centering pass or driving to the net...

Kopitars defensive play down low helping our D break the puck out has been stellar during the streak.

Coach said "i think he's fine but I'm not going to comment on that" #ButYouDidComment

And how many times has Sutter called it a minor injury to see the player on LTIR the next week?
Until we see him on the ice and taking regular rushes with Suttter always consider the worst.

BTW, Ribiero is obviously a little **** head for that hit. He could have potentially ended Erhoff's career today. ****ing hate that guy.

DS in the past, "it's a body injury"

Martinez got hit on essentially the same spot and type of play last year.

Can anyone here believe Kopi is on a contract year looking for ~9mill?
Just crazy.

Toffoli is leading the league in goals right now (tied with Benn with 9).

Benn is an offence MACHINE! guy is so sick. Awesome to see him play.

Impressions:

AA is playing better all the time.

Kopitar taking a few shifts on the 4th line is a good thing. He gets it defensively.

Lucic is obvious.

Quick wants that one back.

Gaborik and Shore are developing some chemistry. I'd run with it further.

?? Is AM baby sitting JM, or is it the other way around.

?? Same question about McBain and Ehrhoff.

?? DD is the ultimate baby sitter.

IMO

Don't forget Tyler!!! Which one do I mean?

One of those games where you never felt comfortable with shots getting to Quick. He may save them, but didn't feel like he's in control.

Gaborik with a poor effort on that 3rd goal by the Preds. Didn't try to hold it, or skate to get it in deep, just flipped at it.

Kopitar, who knows anymore. That whole line though really. Brown has the effort, but a goal would help. Pearson isn't doing much. Gaborik isn't doing much for the most part.

7 in a row is great, but it's almost all the Carter line, and obviously Toffoli especially. Keep it going, as long as possible, the more points the better. Just hope something clicks somewhere else when Toffoli stops getting a goal or two per game. Cross that bridge then I suppose.

Nashville was excellent at generating traffic and harassing Quick's vision which probably played a part there. Ellis also has an absolute cannon that it looks like Quick (and the whole team) lost focus on there whether it was tipped or not. I wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't because of the goalie.

I'm not really MAD at Kopitar or his line, I just think he needs to do more than be neutral matchup guy. As pointed out he's still excellent at the details and I think he'll wake up just like last year, but someone pointed out he looked like earlier-on Handzus in the GDT, and I agree wholeheartedly. Brown's at least playing like an energizer bunny with no brain, I have no doubt he'll break through if he keeps going hard and Kopitar can funnel his flow of play towards the net. Pearson is a good combo with those guys but it's just not 'working' right now which is fine if they get it going soon.

Just being nitpicky though, definitely not mad, hard to be upset or really anything but thrilled with how it's going now!

hoping the best for Ehrhoff, if it's a concussion, he may be toast.

On the Clifford hit, it wouldn't surprise me if Sutter had ordered his big forwards to level Kopitar if he peels away from the net again. Yes, he looked exhausted out there but he is 4th in the league in minutes for forwards. Those are heavy Kings minutes. Kings need an upgrade at 3 C to share the load better.

I will say this in his defense, because it probably looks like I'm trucking him--Kopitar only has 3 points (goals), but he's +5, second only to Carter/Toffoli at +6, but they have 7 more points. So it's not like he's being a slug out there, that's awesome when no one else around you is finishing and you're seeing the tough minutes.

Doughty having 7 points in 10 games makes me happy, he deserves it. That's a 57 point pace. What a performance.

I was really impressed with Nashville. Usually watching them is like watching paint dry, but this was an all around exciting game. Laviolette has really given that team life.

Well, a lot of the criticism is directed at the best and the worst players. We probably wouldn't be ragging on Kopi's offensive play so much if we wasn't such a skilled player. Defensively he's aces. Offensively, he's been better.
