Toffoli has one fewer goal than the entire Ducks team
He just can't stay focused.
Not sure he's worth another contract

Well the Toffoli thread got started, so expect a cool off. lol
The only reason Brown has put up decent numbers was because of Kopitar!Brown does very little to compliment him if he's not hitting and making space. Brown doesn't do anything else well. Gaborik on the otherhand can shot, pass and score if given a chance with a legitimate top line centre(not Lewis or NShore)!Kopi's line struggles because Brown doesn't carry his weight and Gabby struggles because Sutter is playing him with a couple of plumbers!!!Kopitar needs to be put with Gaborik again with Pearson and Brown needs to play the 3rd line with his American buddies!!!Maybe just maybe the 1st comes out their funk and starts to light it up!!!
Well put. The game isn't played on paper. If shifting guys around makes other teams respond to it or not respond to it, it gives DS options!! As much as certain things are about chemistry, it's also about match ups, and who you can keep away from different players. So many people tend to think of match ups like its two super stars, like Crosby vs. Ovechkin!! But to coaches, it's much deeper than that, and the coach nows about the other team's lines that can shut down ANY line, so they try to move things around and make it difficult. Or to DS, his boxes!!!The other thing is there's only so much offense to go around. We've been over 3 goals a game in the winning streak, that would be near the top in the NHL. If the 70s line is potting 3-4 goals a game, putting other guys at 70 point paces would mean we're scoring 5-6 goals a game. Not even the mighty Hawks or Lightning are doing that. There's a reason there's typically only 1-2 players per team approaching PPG. Someone will cool off, you just have to hope someone else heats up to even it out. It's the reason scoring depth is so important in the playoffs and why one line teams struggle.
Hopefully we never leave first place again. I'm serious, we can take this division. Our guys should take it seriously.
Agreed, and already being 4 and 0 against the toughest central division is encouraging as well.
4-0*
*10/25 @ Oilers

Not to be a downer, but it would be really nice not to drop games to garbage teams in the division this year.
Also lines
Pearson/Kopitar/Gaborik
1773
Lewis/Shore/Brown
or
Lewis/Shore/Brown
1773
Pearson/Kopitar/Gaborik
I guess it really would be
1773
Lewis/Shore/Brown
Pearson/Kopitar/Gaborik
-There's an argument that you want Brown's physicality with Kopitar, but he isn't going to be taking runs at people every game in the regular season.... He doesn't need to put that much strain on his body.
-I bet Pearson and Gaborik would have great chemistry after playing together for a while.
-Brown probably has better chemistry with Shore. Their games just match up better. Shore/Lewis know the game with Brown, head down go to net...
I really think this could get the 3 lines moving... Getting the offense (other then Toffoli) going would be huge for this team.
Kings are sitting in the bottom of the pack with offense around 24... the low end of the peloton is a tie at 20 goals from Philly/Leafs... then there's some terrible team at 10 goals... anyways the point... any slight bump in defense from different line combos or you like having Brown out to give a physical aspect to the top line would be insignificant compared to the importance of getting the offense working.
Of course I'm probably better off hoping for Lewis to continue his hot streak!
Kopitar is so generous. He's passing the savings on his contract onto Toffoli.

Nah, I think what it is, is Kopitar is deferring to Gaborik too much. Errr Brown, I mean. Just look at all of the assists. That should tell us something.
On a serious note, teams are going to start trying to run Toffoli. Hope Lucic puts a stop to it as soon as it starts.
I mean statistically... With this ****... In like a month Kopi has to start scoring 3 goals per game yes?
It'll even out imo. Others will start scoring and the "2nd" line will start tailing off.
