A lot of fans in the Canadiens section think that Subban is better than Doughty, what do Kings fan think about that?

Who gives a crap! Who cares who's better. Why can't people just be happy that they have guys like them on their team. Most other teams wish for guys like them.

Hockey is a team game just like most other sports. All that counts is that they make the team better. Which they both do. And just for the record @ the last Olympics...Doughty was on the Top pairing, while Subban was in the Pressbox and bottom pairing. But they both made Team Canada which a hard thing to do, so they both must be pretty good.

Of course I'd take Doughty over any other Dman in the game (but I'm also a Kings fan).

Ok rant over...I just hate comparing guys to each other.

He is a decent point scorer for a bad team. That's his ceiling these days.

He was horrible tonight. Watched him at the game and paid special attention.

Playoff scratch is a real possibility.

I always judge players off of one game, too.

I disagree, but I think he's a very talented defender who is in the discussion of being among the best blueliners. I think he's better offensively, and Doughty is better defensively.

My only contention I have with people comparing blueliners is taking the "AINEC" point of view. Or overlooking their choice's weaknesses. I think it's fair to say, among the top three candidates every year (Subban, Karlsson, Doughty), Doughty is the weakest in the offensive zone. He sometimes misses an opportunity to find an opening to position himself offensively, and he can't get a hard shot off in a timely manner or through traffic. It's not the system why Doughty's offense is lacking; that's just Doughty's weakness, at least compared to the other two defensemen.

If you favor defensemen who are stronger offensively, then Doughty won't be your top choice. I'm okay with that. I disagree, but at least be honest about your assessments of your choices. That's all I ask for.

Edit: Forgot to say that Subban probably my favorite non-Kings player in the NHL. I would love to have him on my team.

Doughty>Subban.

If there was ever a time you could actually compare the two players side by side it was tonight.

He's pretty close to mine, too. All heart all the time. love his drive and physicality, he's dynamic offensively, and he's a total saint in the community.

"Karlssons TOI poorly managed."

*****, I never leave the ice.

that's some high praise from Max, who sees Subban a lot.

...which means that'll get painted as a shot at Subban instead right?

Also, lol

I don't know. First goal was unlucky that Pearson blew a tire. There was a scrum on the half wall preceding the goal and the Kings lost a board battle.

Second goal Scuds correctly took his man. Doughty was late on the rotation and it bounced off him and took a funny hop off the ice.

First goal Pearson fell.. before that Scuderi had the puck on his stick. His pass to Doughty was off resulting in a turnover. That particular one ended up in the back of the net. He had multiple passes that were off the mark tonight.

Second goal, Scuderi was standing up at the blue line. Doughty may have been late, but it seemed like that might have not been the correct time to stand up. Puck bounced by Quick... that happens when you give up shots from good areas.

Just didn't think that Scuderi had a very good night. Luckily the team scored more then 2 goals to make up for it. Also sucks that Scuderi has to hit the ground running, but the divisions on the line and playoffs in 19 games. He doesn't have a lot of time to adjust back to the NHL.

Doesn't count. Team achievements.

And this is why other teams' fans are scratching their head every year about why they don't win the cup. It's a team sport. Go figure. Pretty sure Doughty would take the cup over the Norris any day of the week. You know, being a team player and all. Personal sacrifices to win what everyone says they play hockey for.

What Pacioretti is saying is the reason why the Kings are difficult to beat in the playoffs. 10-1 in their last 11 series. And, of course, he doesn't mention EK either. He must love being on the ice and scoring against him. A lot of pucks end up in the back of the net when EK is on the ice. You get a goal! You get a goal! Everyone gets a goal! Including the opposition!

The funny thing with the Pacioretty hatred from Habs fans is... All he said is Doughty is at the best AT WHAT HE DOES. He didn't make a slight to Subban or call Doughty the best dman in the league.

The fact they are crapping on him is sad.

And enough with the "team achievements don't count" bs. If we had Subban instead of Doughty, we would be in year number 49 of the cup drought.

I agree with this ^^^^

He just decides to take over the game once in a while and he very rarely falls down at center ice giving up a breakaway. :sarcasm:

jinx for Saturday

Max P is a stud. Always liked the way he plays.

Some Montreal fans are all bent about Subban not being named to the worlds and Max P did not help that out at all.

I like when players give their honest answers to questions. If they do not want Pacioretty I would gladly take him on the kings. captain for captain trade:sarcasm:

Some of these fans are really "special." Their way of thinking simply defies logical reasoning.

My seats are glass behind the visitors bench and I'll be honest the Canadians, though having a ****** year are very focused and together as a team.

I noticed PK had his arm around Byron during a stoppage.
Max P was always standing on the bench and it seemed like he was playing the whole game.

Too bad Price is hurt and they are having a bad year seems like they are a close knit team. I saw ex NHL scrapper Daniel Lacroix, who is the assistant coach drawing up plays too. The whole bench and coaches and players talk a lot compared to most others. Sucks they aren't in the playoffs.

Those jerseys give me chills because of 93. The players must feel a lot of pride and pressure wearing those jerseys though.
