Do any of you ever red the comments under Kings related stuff that the NHL posts on Facebook? Hoooooooly **** is it ****ing savage. There is so much hatred out there for our team and fanbase that it makes the main boards look like tea time at the Ritz. I should have known better than to click on the comments section.

Just good life advice

Nah never bothered to waste time doing so. It's a mental exercise having to do that, especially when those comments are likely from some keyboard warriors who can't name you any Blackhawk prior to the Toews/Kane era. They probably think a guy with the name of Dirk Graham was a former Chicago politician.

It's interesting to note all the hatred is now visible thanks to social media.

In the late 1970s, I worked with a guy who was a San Francisco native. He was in his late 20s at the time, about 10 years older than me. The guy hated everything L.A. in sports. He didn't have one nice thing to say; totally dismissive of any Los Angeles sports accomplishments, even saying stupid **** like Chick Hearn and Vin Scully weren't good at their profession.

The guy had no credibility at all. I finally figured out it wasn't worth my time and effort to discuss anything sports-related with him. Only one of us was listening, and trying to be fair in sports discussion, clearly.

It is just ridiculously magnified now due to social media. There is no talking to those clowns taking shots at Los Angeles fans; only immature people actually take shots at fans when their team loses to the team of those fans. I've never been to the NHL Facebook page (as I'm not much into Facebook), but having checked it out due to curiosity and DocWest's post. Obviously it's not moderated and it appears a bunch of 13-year-olds are posting comments there, so it will be the last time I will ever visit it. But it is emblematic of a much bigger problem that social media has, and that is it's not going to last in it's present form without many changes. A lot of websites don't allow comment posting, and I wish a lot more took this philosophy to heart.

The comical thing is Chicago fans make fun of the Kings, because we have fans that don't know the history ETC, or players.

Well guess what ?, that's EVERY SINGLE fan base. I bet their are MTL fans like that.

I have personally met some Chicago fans, who had no idea who Patrick Kane was, no joke. They had heard of him, but couldn't point him out on the ice.

Nope. I've got better things to do than learn the opinion of some ****ers who hate the Kings more than they like their own team. (looking at you, Ducks fans)

If such a thing was an actual sport, I might as well be dead last while they're all tied for 1st place. Better to be the classy loser than the sour winner.

It is entertaining, but it's a freaking clown show, and isn't the game of hockey. I hate it.

People keep saying this, but they don't define it. What, exactly, is the game of hockey to you?

Because I can remember games ending in ties after three periods. And no one was satisfied with ties.

I definitely remember the days of road teams playing for a tie with about 10 minutes left in the third period. That was not entertaining hockey.

I hate 5v5 OT's unless it's the playoffs. Cause regular season 5v5 OT, is just two teams playing for the tie in the old days, or a Shootout in the new age.

3v3 is awesome, and I don't care if it's a gimmick. More OT games seem to be ending in OT, and not shootouts.

3v3 there is just too much ice out there, to sit back. Teams are going to take shots for wins, cause of the amount of ice in front of them.

well i asked for the kings top 6 to outscore hawks top 6 and got it. I also ask for the bottom 6 to play physical and stay out of the box. I got that as well. Happy with the heart we showed coming back. Nice to see kopitar and gaborik heating up. I think we should as a fan base recognize this as a big win against a talented team. I also think shore had a good game. We did well in faceoffs for a change only person under 50% was shore who i thought looked more comfortable last night and made a few good plays Very happy with this game Go kings go

Here's the exciting OT in its entirety. Word of warning though, as according to some people this isn't "real hockey." You know games used to end in a tie after 60 minutes during the regular season? No overtime at all. I guess any OT shouldn't be considered "real hockey."

Anyhow, here's the video, with the Hawks broadcasters sounding so sad when Gaborik wins the game:

Anyone else notice how Darling set a pick on Pearson? That should've been an interference penalty as it helped the Hawks get on an outnumbered attack, but hey, it all worked out in the end.

I hate to say it...but I dozed off shortly after Chicago made it 2-0...

I'll just have to wait for a replay...for the exciting parts of the game...

So we have you to thank!

Please start consuming large amounts of chamomile anytime an opponent takes a lead.

This.

Give me a gimmick with an ending over that eye-bleeding play-for-a-tie for the entire third period crap we used to see. hell, I remember a Kings-Canucks game in 2010 where they had 10 shots on goal the whole game because they went into a shell in the late second...can maybe play for the point, but you can't hide in OT.

Then call me "no one". Ties are infinitely preferable to "deciding" the game by playing something entirely different than what's been played for the past sixty minutes. They maintain the integrity of the sport and the game. This clown show is marginally "better" than the homerun derby after the 10th inning (the shootout), but it is fundamentally NOT the same contest that was played.

I'll say it again - ten-minute five-on-five OT, three points for ANY win, zero points for ANY loss, one point each for a tie. That maintains the integrity of the game instead of playing soccer for 90 minutes then playing team handball for 30 to "break the tie". Cause that's what this clown show is.

Full OT in HD.

That **** lasted exactly 4 seconds longer than only 2 minutes. LOL

Guess you would be one guy that the NHLPA wouldn't be part of negotiations. Because they are NEVER going to go for a 70-minute game.

Ain't happenin'.

Also disagree with it being marginally better than the home run derby. Now that is a clown show. But 3v3 OT hockey is exciting and beats the hell out of going to a shootout. The NHL has scored big with this concept and it's here to stay. So...

...too bad for you.

Oh, I have no illusions as to what's actually going to happen. I'm just not a fan, and not going to apologize for disliking it, just like I'll never apologize for hating the coinflip of the shootout.
