WTF was America's Sweetheart™ Patrick Kane doing on the GWG? LOL. He kept his streak alive and was like, "**** it, I'm ready for bed."
I was thinking the same. You could see that pass coming from miles away.

Great atmosphere in the building. People know Chicago is the team to beat.

These OT's must be exhausting for the players.

"HAWKS WIN, HAWKS WIN"

Wait, whaddapened? Though LA-CHI matches are must see if Kings manages to show up.

From what I read and heard, the game was just what I wanted/expected it to be. So pissed I wasn't able to see it.

Gaborik and Kopitar starting to pick it up but even Ehrhoff?

What's intriguing about the win is that the Kings did the same thing to the Hawks as the Hawks did to the Ducks. Well, not in as dramatic fashion as the latter but coming back from two goal deficit against a team that just doesn't drop the ball in these situations is very uplifting.

That was just a great freaking game, even when Chicago was winning, both teams were really pushing back and forth. NOthing like when both these teams are on (I know CHicago was a little off tonight).

Can you imagine if we just got league average goaltending how good we'd be :sarcasm: I mean, Quick only put up a .909 tonight, he sucks! Stopped just short of double-digit breakaways and odd-man breaks...

Forget about actual shots on net. Chicago's grade A scoring chances were at least 3 to 1 better. Quick was incredible on every break. Somewhat ironic that DS can be so positive about the game when the game had a boat full of glaring D mistakes. Quick stole this one. I guess DS didn't want to suck the air out of the room afterward. Chicago started looking tired half way through the game. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Hockey is a game of mistakes!!! Thank god Seabrook had the most glaring one!! GKG!! The place was rocking last night!!!

The end-change during OT was a more subtle change this season that was genius. Not only is it three on three, but it's a long change as well. Extremely difficult to get off the ice.

As long as you have Quick in net for 3v3, I'd say we always have the advantage. Every big chance results in a rush back up the ice, and Quick is aces at stopping those and letting the skaters finish the job.

Very happy to see Kopi and Gabbo leading us out of this one with 2 points!

Exactly. I think teams are going to start assessing whether they'd be better to play more defensive during the 3 on 3 and just try to win in a shootout. In the interim though, it seems like every team is caught up in it. Vancouver is learning the hard way. It would seem that having the Twins would make them potent, but it's a fast young guys skaters game, and you see a lot of back check plays that are like a wrestling match coming up the rink to get inside position, and this requires some good defensive skill, and lots of energy.

3-on-3 is so entertaining, and 5 minutes of it is just the right amount. So much better than the cautious 4-on-4 followed by a shootout.

For everyone pumping Kopitar's tires, I know you are waiting for a comment so here it is. Yes, he had two assists and I am happy he got them, but one was gifted to him on a turnover he did nothing to create and the other was in 3-on-3 hockey with a pass that I would hope any player in our top six along with Doughty could make.

There are times when Kopitar's natural talent comes shining through. He still isn't getting to the middle with enough frequency and creating much havoc in the offensive zone for the opposing team 5-on-5. If you are being honest, you will admit it.

Glad to see Gaborik score a couple of goals around the net. If this game gives him some confidence and gets him back to the front of the net more, he could heat up.

I think sutter called out Brown for the turnover that lead to the last second breakaway in regulation.

You could tell the gears aren't working for Brown. Too bad all that off ice training didn't make him a better player. This better conditioned version of Brown is just as productive as last season's version of Brown.

I couldn't believe how he almost gave that game away with his turnover in the dying seconds of the game. What the hell is wrong with this guy? Didn't realize having so many kids would make somebody worse at their profession.

Yes, Brown is just faster at not being productive. I don't even think he looks where he is shooting anymore and is just hoping that if he throws enough pucks at the net, some will go in for him.

Can't see how he plays out this contract in LA.

Did anybody call out Brown on that play ?

Guy is good for nothing currently. Rookie mistake.

Uhh that Kane goal was all Kopi, he gave Brown no chance to make a play and Keith made a great, aggressive play. Brown rightfully earned Sutter's wrath for the very end of regulation, though.

I think teams are trying to be more conservative but once there's a turnover and an oddman break, you're not going to pass up a two-on-one going back the other way unless one player is dead tired.

I also think there's only so much you can do...you can play keep away/retain possession, but at that level, unless you're making an advance, you're just going to get pressured until you choke it up anyway, even if you're playing roller hockey out there and just throw it back to the D.

Kopi's pass was of course not the best one, but Brown had the play in front of him in contrast to Kopitar. Brown touched the puck and wanted to lift the puck over the stick of Keith instead of getting rid of it. I understand he didnt have a lot of time, but he's a vet.

Do any of you ever red the comments under Kings related stuff that the NHL posts on Facebook? Hoooooooly **** is it ****ing savage. There is so much hatred out there for our team and fanbase that it makes the main boards look like tea time at the Ritz. I should have known better than to click on the comments section.

Brown just needed to make the simple play and get it deep, instead he forced a play that wasn't there and it almost cost the team. I can't stress how much he needs to get back to playing his physical style of hockey and lay some people out to create space on the ice. He was most effective that way.

Quick has also been surprisingly good at passing the puck in 3v3 that tends to lead to outnumbered attacks.
