I thought Vinny looked good. We dont need him to do a ton. Just dont be a liability. And he wasnt.

He kept his shifts short which I like.

Quick is playing lights out, but it's once again further proof that Sv%(without context) is a garbage stat to evaluate goalies.
 
i'm guessing we're going to roll Ehrhoff & McBain for the rest of the season, or is DL looking to add yet another D?

Yeah that was his experience showing imo. Didn't play beyond his means, or extend a shift to cheat on offense because we got the puck moving up. Smart.
 
Love seeing Vinnie's face light up after he assisted on Muzzin's goal. You know the guy is just elated to be back and playing again. He looks like he has something to prove out there.

Gotta say, was REALLY hoping for the record shut out here. All the worse, the goal that went in Quick was ready and saw the whole time... Just didn't happen.

Oh well, good game all around... and 2 more points. Awesome that Vinny gets a point... As much "Vinny was a favor" talk... I liked him more than Schenn this game. Him an Mersch had a few good looks out there this game.
Also, awesome to see Carts get one first game back.
 
Leafs hung in there. Gabby looked like he was on a mission. Vinny played solid. Even back checked. Schenn didn't look out of place at all.

Gladly take the points.

That kind of attitude can go a really long way in motivating the rest of the team.
 
One mainboard thread is on how dirty the Kings are, the other is on how clean the Leafs are.

Both are draining my IQ.

i really disagree

GAA is a garbage stat

S% is pretty much the most legit stat for a goalie

shots, how many saves can you make? some are easy, some come straight on, some are deflected

a shot is a shot, a save is a save, i don't get how that is BS

you can't disagree that Quick was in terrible form last year up to beginning of this year

and now he's in BEAST MODE, he's stopping those same deflected pucks that a few months ago you'd blame the D for the goal!

so S% is legit
 
Vinny created more chances than Shore has all season. Small sample size, but Vinny did pretty well tonight. Schenn made a nice save right at the end of the game as well.

You aren't the NUMBER ONE defensive team in the NHL with a bad goalie. At any point in time. He's been good all year long.

I've actually been posting with an aneurysm this whole time after I visited the main boards earlier. Absolute cluster**** of incompetence going on there.
 
has Clifford lost his sport to Mersch?

and if so, because we're short on RW, seems weird to keep Nolan on the roster over guys like Clifford, Shore

I think it is very telling that Sutter sat BOTH Shore and Andreoff tonight.
