Consistently lost in his own zone. Consistently ooozes into no mans land when 2 players are attacking. Will not pick one of the attackers and let the goaltender have the other. Too small to clean out in front of the crease. All those face washes applied to opponents on the boards dont pass muster as physical play.
I mean i hope we get a good player/result if we decide to trade him but...

Don't forget to vote for the Kings.

Both.....teams have tape of his play, and you are wrong....

By no means is Durzi an elite shut down must have defense....but people acting like he's the defensive equivalent of Bambi have no clue...

Watch the games again this summer, you will see Durzi do some absolutely stupid shit, 100%, and it stands out because immediately after, or most immediately after, scoring chance, goal etc.....but watch how many times he makes the right decision, actually watch from Game 1....to Game 82, and keep a running tab, early in the season, negative to positive, probably 3 to 1....as the season grows, that shrinks, and goes to about 1 to 3 in the latter half of the season.

People tend to highlight and focus on the negative because that's what they've been told, or they don't know enough to see the positives in his game.
But that’s the problem because it’s all high event stuff and defensively the coach doesn’t know what he’s going to get out of him. Sure he does some good stuff but the giveaways and general tendency to do the occasional stupid thing mean he won’t be properly trusted by his team. Defensive uncertainty on the blueline is a killer.

Look, if we didn’t have Spence and Clarke then sure, have him on the 3rd pair but we do… both of them should have significantly better careers ahead of them.

I'm just talking about Durzi, I agree with you with Spence and Clarke, you have that luxury etc,

But Durzi isn't nearly as bad as a defender as people on here try to make him out to be,

He made the bonehead play in the playoffs in 2022, which cemented in fans heads, then he starts off with that brutal pass in the season opener against VGS, and it was over, not one person on this forum would EVER give him the benefit of the doubt,

And, well, yea it's all high event stuff because he got burned, or made a bad read, that's how high event plays, get turned into...high event plays, by a defender screwing the pooch.....he doesn't do it nearly as often as people think he does.

If we can't trade Lizzo then the Kings should buy him out. The cap hit for a buyout is only 280k for 2 years. Saves 1.4ish this year and only 280k against the cap the following year. QB needs to be 3C next season.
He's an excellent 4th line center, and is appropriately paid.

He won't be moved, nor is there any reason to move him.

The players to move are one of Iaffalo, Moore (unlikely) or Arvidsson.

Also, Grundstrom or Lizotte since they make over 1 million and looks like after Vilardi gets his contract and the Kings sign a goalie, there won’t be much left.

Careful with Durzi, remember he came up two seasons ago and carried the Kings D core when Doughty was hurt. If DD gets hurt again, who is going to take over as the PP quarterback. Anderson, Roy and Gavrikov, Bjornfot aren’t the most dynamically offensive and Spence and Clarke are still very young and only have a combined 40 games NHL experience.

Don’t forgot that pass to Frk that Durzi made. This was his sophomore year. I’m a fan.

the counter argument on a fan board is "watch every game and take notes" like you didn't just pull those 1:3 3:1 figures out your f***in ass and act like they're facts

i'm glad we're turning the comedy arc now LMAO

If the Kings don’t shore up the toughness and move Durzi that leaves Kempe and Danault as the Kings enforcers. What does everyone think about that. Because those are the only two with a fighting majors.

Durzi had 5-6 fighting majors in the past few years and was the only player pushing back or chirping players when Lemieux and McEwen wasn’t playing.

Bring in Milan Lucic, Trent Frederic, and a tough #6/7 LHD like Ian Cole.

Mikey Anderson - Drew Doughty
Vladislav Gavrikov - Matt Roy
Ian Cole - Brandt Clarke/Sean Durzi

I hope Blake takes a run at Nick Seeler. He can play on the third pair with Durzi or Clarke/Spence. One year left at 900k. Ties to the Kings organization.

Kings have 16 forwards and really only tough one in McEwen.

If they add a Seeler they can afford to have some more skilled forwards on the bottom 6.

The counter to that is, I don't need to watch the games to know what the f*** I am talking about......imagine that....

The toughest players on the Kings are

1. Danault 2. Iafallo 3. Lizotte 4. Kempe

Durzi is way too bad defensively and he’s rarely tough.

We don’t need that guy.

It honestly sucks that Grundstrom is a p***y. Especially Bjornfot too.

If any of these Swedes had balls they’d be permanent fixtures on this team. Sweden needs to go back to their Viking roots. Getting too soft.

If Durzi and Grundstrom are gone, and you sign our RFA's (not counting Vilardi), you still only have 4.9M in cap space to work with. About 5.9M if you want to run a 22 man roster.

We need toughness.
Byfield, Kopi, Kempe
Moore, Danault, Arvidsson
Fiala, Vilardi, Kaliyev
Grundström, Lizotte, Kupari
Fagemo, JAD, Iafallo

Only 2 that can pass through waivers are Kaliyev & Byfield. Who do you cut for a 4th liner?

This is the Kings healthy and assuming they qualify all these players...

Fagemo-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Filara-Byfield-Vilardi
Iaffalo-Lizotte-Kupari
Grunstrom, JAD, McEwen, Kayilev

I honestly wouldn't be shocked that Kayilev ends up in Ontario or traded in a package with Bjornfot.

Fagemo would have to pass thru waivers, so he makes the team.

Now, let's assume the Kings move out Arvidsson. He is 30, makes 4 million (that the Kings need), they likely won't re-sign him, and the Kings have Kayilev, Fagemo and Chromiak - all similar players.

Also, let's assume they trade one of the extra forwards - such as Grundstrom or JAD.

Now, you have opened up a forward spot on the 4th for a tough guy, who can play everyday.

Fagemo-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Iafallo
Filara-Byfield-Vilardi
???-Lizotte-Kupari
JAD, McEwen

What exactly are swedish meatballs made out of?

Even though Arvidsson is good and cheap, moving his contract without taking cap back will be difficult IMO.

The contending teams are short on cap space, and short on draft picks. Non contending teams have no interest in a rental.
