I'm shocked at fans and even someone like the Mayor projecting Bjornfot on the 3rd pair.
Did the Kings get tougher? No. McEwen walked and Lemieux was traded.
If anything the Kings are getting smaller, by replacing Durzi with a Clarke or Spence. Durzi could hit and scrap.
Now people are penciling a not physical and not offensive Bjornfot who in his only full season in 70 games had 0 goals, 6 PIM and -12 to help protect the future Drew Doughty of the Kings in Clarke?
When Doughty started, he had Sean O'Donnell as basically his bodyguard and D partner, then Willie Mitchell (nasty with his stick and could scrap), and then Scuderi.
They better play a much bigger and meaner Englund with Clarke otherwise I don't what to say anymore.
I'm shocked they kept Grundstrom, who was invisible in the playoffs and added an almost 40 year old Lewis. Did the 4th line that got steam rolled in the playoffs change or get better or more physical? No.
It's basically Grundstrom-Lizotte-Lewis. I would rather take Lemieux back and put him in Grundstrom's spot.
If they don't want to play tough D, then at least pick up a tough forward. Right now, they have neither.
I can't wait until someone smokes Clarke into the boards and then every fan goes crazy and Blake and co. have to scramble to find a Lemieux or McEwen 2.0. Who on the Kings will do anything if Foligno, Kolesar, Carrick or anyone runs him? WE HAVE NO ONE. IT'S PATHETIC.
