How exciting.

So do I get to say fire blake when Copley regresses to the mean and Talbot shits the bed, completely sabotaging the other moves? Or is someone going to massage my shoulders and say shhhh it's okay Blake tried?

Going on years of not addressing the goaltending pipeline situation and even with the benefit of an offseason and tons of assets we're heading for the worst one yet.

The one coaching I trust is our goalies. Other than Petersen, we've made a lot of goalies much better. Hopefully our 1.5 mil backup goalie is the next Budaj, Campbell, Scrivens, or Kuemper,

But yeah I'm also shitting my pants

i trust our goalie coaching more than it seems i'm sure

but again hope isn't a strategy

And here we are going well hopefully this journeyman AHL goalie and whoever is left that we can sign for minimum wage can be passable

Surely tying up 45% of your cap in four players, two of which are on the wrong side of 30, wouldn’t backfire?

We’re kind of just f***ed until Kopitar’s deal expires at the end of the year. That should hopefully clear a big chunk of space. I hope he re-signs for cheap, $5 million or less.

I'm not sure how much longer Kopitar will play and I'm sure he will take a huge paycut.

His 10 million comes off the books, so does Arvidsson's 4 million. And the Cap will go up another 5-6 million.

If Kopitar takes 4-5 million, then the Kings will have about 15 million to play with.

Fair assessment, I don't think the deal was an overpayment, still don't like Kupari being involved, but but basically it boils down to PLD for Vilardi who MIGHT become what PLD is....Iafallo who everyone has argued is a cap dump....and Kupari.....show me one 25 year old center that has been moved for less?

We don't know what leverage anyone had....

Seems your argument was more the hole it filled rather than the trade itself etc....
yup exactly. Felt the same way with Fiala but have really enjoyed him being a king too.

One last thing on Iafallo. I value you him over Arvidsson because I think Arvidsson is dependable even though he is more skilled, also I like the extra year on Iafallo. Moore would be the cap dump for the three of them. Did not like that deal the moment it was signed. Felt like he was paid for a good few weeks.

I think Iafallo will become a fan fav in Winnipeg. Will be watching them closely this year.

I mean we're basically banking on a career AHL'er on having back to back seasons of being a capable goaltender at the NHL level.

Copley may very well just fall apart and we might be in the same situation/worse than last year.

If he falls apart they'll just cycle goalies through. It might be an adventure for a bit, but should be correctable at the deadline.

King's have had their starter for a decade. People are uneasy without Quick in net. Just have to find the next solution.

Wayne Simmonds.
Can he play goal? Wouldn't have to skate as much.

Free Agent goalies we can afford:

1. James Reimer
2. The ebug that beat Toronto that one time

Funny about ebugs. We are well on our way to needing one if we have no cap space and are signing an old guy to split the crease with Copley.

I honestly expect the Kings to sign two UFA goalies. One for Ontario and one for the big club.

I can't see them rolling with just Portillo and Ingham for Ontario. Unless the Reign sign a goalie to an AHL only deal.

Laurent Brossiot is interesting but he'll be coming off an injury (groin tear).

Have we considered moving Trevor Moore? That would free up a decent amount of cap space and we have a few forwards that could slot in.

Fiala - PLD - Kempe
Byfield - Kopitar - Kaliyev
Turcotte - Danault - Arvidsson

Good luck finding a team that wants that $ for that term.

would love it if LA could move him. Not sure why any team would want him over a FA or other players that maybe available. Look what Taylor Hall just got
