Our goalie is probably going to be a re-tread that they think they can fix like Campbell , Kuemper, and Budaj in the past.
Prepare yourselves to be underwhelmed.

I am expecting this, so I will be whelmed

If we can get a breakout season of 20+ goals out of QB , many here should forget about vilardi. Qb has the physical size that’s still filling out to be a dominant player. If he gets his sh!t together this year , it totally changes the dynamic of this team
That and some additional goal-scoring from Kaliyev if given a top-six opportunity.

If LA trusts some young players they can get a better goalie.
Plug Fagemo in for Arvidsson. Turcotte in for Lizotte. And Dolan in for Grundstrom.
Trading Arvidsson Lizotte and Grundstrom opens enough cap for a 5 million dollar goalie like Ullmark and a cheap but useful 4th line winger.

Why not
Max Comtois is the player I would targer if Kings don't want to play just an Enforcer.
He has off-ice issues to sort out.

They all died.

With the way the roster has come together hasn’t that been the plan?
In all fairness we have an above average top 6 and top 4… With that said, our 1G is MIA while our 4th line is Hobbit like..
Our first line is average at best.

Now I fully expect Fiala and Dubois to have amazing chemistry, they seem built for each other.

I was a person saying we have too many wingers, but was also saying they should be moved for Picks to be used to get a goalie (either due to cap space or moving the acquired picks,), or straight up for a goalie.

I knew one or two of Moore/Arvidson/Iafallo would need to be moved, but that would be my order for desire to move them. For me it sucks Iafallo was the one to go. Also Vilardi I am ok with moving, but this team is very low on right hand shot forwards. I saw that plague calgary for years too.

I get you point on Adin Hill, same could be said with Niemi with the Hawks. Every so often that happens, but having a top goalie is more tried and true.

Do I like the players who were moved out yes, but I am ok with them being moved. My issue is that it was used to bring in a forward who will take up more cap than the guys who were moved out.

Hayes at $3.5M + Vilardi + Iafallo + 2nd > PLD + 6th. Not sure if that deal was available to LA, but that is also part of my problem. Even if you are ok with everything else it feels like this was an overpay based on other deals happening around the league, and the fact the Jets should not have had any leverage.

I could end up eating big time crow (best case scenario really) and I do think PLD will end up being one of my favorite players to watch as a king (loved what he did in the bubble and think a motivated PLD is a great thing). Just seemed like too much for a position not needed, while now not allowing the organization to properly address their main weakness.

Fair assessment, I don't think the deal was an overpayment, still don't like Kupari being involved, but but basically it boils down to PLD for Vilardi who MIGHT become what PLD is....Iafallo who everyone has argued is a cap dump....and Kupari.....show me one 25 year old center that has been moved for less?

We don't know what leverage anyone had....

Seems your argument was more the hole it filled rather than the trade itself etc....

Vladar for Grundstrom and a pick.

I was hoping that would get done today, but decently happy after reading about the players that were picked up.

Let's hope so. Vilardi had some of the best hands on the team last year. The goals and set up passes he was able to make. I'm hopeful that we can all forget about this during next season.

If Fiala doesn’t get hurt, he was on his way to an 80+ point season, and I think he’ll get there in the upcoming season.

If my dick was 2 inches longer it’d be 8 inches.

The problem with Kassian and Comtois is that they f***ing suck at playing hockey
Hard to understand what happened with Comtois. He looked legit his rookie season.

But how much water could it displace?

How do other teams find these diamond in the rough energy players? Guys who come in and make an immediate impact and the Kings are over here combing through the desert of prospects - “We ain’t found shit!”
They draft or sign them as UDFAs. Blake is finally drafting one after giving up on drafting a 1 or 2C.
