VA or Moore is probably gone.

With the new makeup of the team, that line is probably going to be more defensive centric.
I don't think either moves, and Arvidsson re-signs during the year.

And I don't think they trust Kaliyev yet either.

Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Dubois - Arvidsson
Moore - Danault - Grundstrom
Some unfortunate mixture of Fagemo/Kaliyev and a veteran UFA like Simmonds around Lizotte.

JAD isn't qualified so his space gets added to the goalie fund.

This is a much thinner team than before, with all the same questions.

I hope some time will want Moore…
That would be a bad idea as Moore & Danualt make the line work.. Arvy is just a 3rd wheel who crumbles in the big moments

Still not enough cap space.. who’s the #1 tender? Copley?
You have to move Arvidsson in order to sign Toby and Samuel and bring up Clarke and Spence to the NHL roster

Edit: Clarke and Spence I got from the Blake interview

I believe that Moore is 3rd wheel who crumbles in the big moments…

When Moore was out with the concussion the second line was terrible, when he returned they looked like their old selves..
Also keep in mind that Arvidsson is a perimeter player and lacks physicality of any sort.. one of his biggest weaknesses much like Durzi is his inability to clear pucks out of his own zone.. guess who fail to clear the puck in the playoffs that completed the Oilers comeback in OT?? Anyone???

It doesn’t matter which one goes, both have their strengths and weaknesses, but you can’t be paying over $13m to a third line when you are paying your top 2 centers $18.5m.

But if they both stay…

There is also a possibility the Kings could now look into trading Roy or Danault. Both have a lot of value but can you justify paying so much to centers? And Roy is an UFA after this season.

They could also trade Lizotte and Grundstrom and replace them with Turcotte and Fagemo. The at would result in over a million in cap space.

Just tryed the teambuilding tool on capfrdly for the first time. The only way we add a 1.1M goalie with this top 9 (both RV and Moore) is trading away Lizotte and Grundy.

Package Moore and Grundstrom to a team with space looking for decent bottom sixers for late picks…

Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Fiala-PLD-Kaliyev
Turcotte/Chromiak-Danault-Arvidsson
JAD/Fagemo-Lizotte-Reaves?
Reaves or Lucic for 4th line if they’re willing to take a 1 year 1 mil type deal to go for a cup…

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Clarke
Bjornfot/Spence-Roy

Jarry/Copley

Sign Jarry 1 year 2.5-3Mil

Based on the current market an extended Matt Roy nets us a huge return that begins with a 1st and a B prospect.. maybe an A prospect if the 1st is late in the round.. Arvy extended also nets us something decent I think, just lol at what Toffoli returned

Definitely some more trades coming.
Using only signed contracts in the organization so far

C - Kopitar, PLD, Danault, Lizzo = $25.675
W- Kempe, Arvy, Kaliyev, Turc = $11.55
W- Byfield, Fiala, Moore, Grundy = $14.3
RD- Doughty, Roy, Clarke = $15.1
LD- Anderson, Gavi, Moverare= $10.8
G - Copley, ? = $1.5
X - Spence, ? = $ .820
Retention = $ 2.725

Total = $82,445,000
Cap = $ 83.5

Left $1.05 million for a goalie and 1 more spare to run with 22

Blake has some work to do.

I believe Bjornfot may get signed for under a mil but he is not the Dman we need.

Can’t run with 1 goalie.

Trading Lizotte’s 1.675 makes sense with us having 3 Centers that will play 53 to 55 mins a game. That would give enough for a guy like Seeler @ $775,000 to finish off the D and add a league minimum center but that still leaves us about a million for a goalie.

Moore has no trade value. Unless we can convince Arizona to take him in part of a package for a Vejmelka but that’s a pipe dream.

Roy brings back a ton but then you have two rooks on the right side.

Arvidsson has to be the guy moved next. Fagemo or possibly Turcotte replace him as a third line winger but there will not be a 60 point repeat from those two. What Carolina entertain a trade for him for a pic and the rights to Anderson?

And it could kill Turcotte.

Guess nobody saw Blake's interview where he said some sacrifices need to be made, which may include not going with a full 23-man roster at times.
So they are going to do a lot of paper transactions and use the savings at the deadline.
Blake is all in so that's when he will use the next 1st round pick to pick up whatever he thinks he needs
Makes me wonder if Blake is going to go with Copley and a lesser back up to start and try to hold onto a guy like Arvi for now.

Lizotte has to go and Moore isn't a top 6 producer so together that's nearly 6 million dollars I'd give them up for a couple of 3rd rounders in 2023!Their positions can easily be taken over by JAD,Fagemo, and Madden,Lias to be our 13th-14th forwards. Bjornfot,Clarke and Spence fight for the 1-2 positions on the Defense and we need to find a goaltender...Korpisalo? Maybe maybe not

How about Stolarz? Big guy that has played in the Pacific. Cost should be low.
