OFFICIAL?? Is Daily Hockey Dose credible?

Steps Towards Finalizing The Trade

In order to cement the deal, it is required that Dubois secures an eight-year agreement with the Kings. This procedure is comprised of two critical stages.

The first step entails the General Managers of both the Jets and the Kings reaching a consensual agreement for the trade.

Following this, the second step involves Dubois agreeing to an 8-year contract with the Kings, which serves as a substantial prerequisite for the trade.

At this juncture, we find ourselves in the middle of the second step. This phase, although noteworthy, is crucial. The trading component has been finalized, yet the signing of the "8-year contract" is still a work in progress.

Didn’t this agent represent Pacioretty, who fired him over an potential extension he negotiated with Robitaille/Blake as part of a trade from MTL? And the trade obviously fell through?

Kinda hoping this falls apart over extension numbers and they look elsewhere. I have no idea what the plan is in goal and that making me nervous.

That's not even technically right. He can't sign an 8 year contract with LA.

He can sign an 8 year deal with Winnipeg, then be traded to LA afterwards.

Unless PLD find his heart and surges as a King, I see Blake being fired within 3 years. which is fine by me and the new GM can properly rebuild.

Blake is going to need most, if not all, of the young guys (QB, AK, Clarke, Portillo, Pinelli) to hit and become true difference making stars. Because there is not much he has in the coming years.

Not that anyone asked, but "PLD" was the acronym a group of us at work gave for the end result of us eating at La Salsa mexican (post-lunch dooks). It was like clockwork. Yet we continued to go like once week smh.

And..I do not trust hockey journalists that say hockey games are matches...and these '3 year' numbers are wrong...and never seen a journalist say " ___ is expected to seamlessly integrate into the ___"
Sounds like they write for a tech gadget site...

"In his tenure with the Jets spanning three seasons, Dubois netted 27 goals and amassed 63 points in 73 matches. Given his impressive performance, Dubois is expected to seamlessly integrate into the Kings"

Meh, would rather keep Vilardi. A bit younger, more skill and less controversy. Also, considering who Vilardi has been paired with for the most part of his career, I'd bet his numbers would be at least equal too if not better than PLD if ice time and line mates were similar.

He does seem like one of those guys who could potentially have a fire lit under his ass after a change of scenery.

We better hope so.
His resume screams "Happy to live in South Bay and have no media accountability for my lazy play".

The fire is harder to light when the long term guaranteed money is already secured before ever putting the new sweater on.

Haha. Like Apu on The Simpsons when he's trying to be a good old boy American and says something about the Mets like "The New York nine are my favorite squadron"

From 2012-2014 we had: Mike Richards, Matt Greene, Kyle Clifford, Brad Richardson, Colin Fraser, Jordan Nolan, Kevin Westgarth, Robyn Regehr, and Daniel Carcillo.

All of which were labeled as "dirty" across other fan bases in the NHL. Dirty is good.
None of those players were nearly as dirt as Wilson.

Seems like the trade will go down tonight or tomorrow morning. It seems that everything is in agreement. Just finalizing the small details.

The thing is there is no Tom Wilson in the NHL which is why he’s be a great asset to the team. The Kings desperately need that. They get bullied way too much.
Isn't that what Zach Efron was brought in for

It still kind of seems like E4 (lol) and I would like someone like Friedman, Pagnotta, or Mayor report on this, before believing it. I don't think anyone will say this is 'Official', unless it's a team reported, release.

Up front, yes. I can answer my most pressing need, getting better players in the Kopitar/DD window.

They have two scoring line centers and it lets Danault play the role expected of him and not having to count on unproven lines to score.

You seem to have a difficult time coming to terms with the fact that the vision that we both shared was abandoned 2 years ago. There is no more slow rebuild, letting youth develop the way most teams do.
No, I am just tired of one awful decision after another.

There may be some quality add ons here, guys like Lowry and Dillon could make a difference.

So another guy who thrives when not under any kind of pressure?

He will fit in immediately.

Watching Blake operate this last 12 months is analogous to watching a boy pull the legs and wings off an insect and marveling at the result

Oh that's awesome

Hopefully Connor gets snuck along in his bag since he can't score without

Exactly. It's terrifying.

This is a guy who has had the label of inconsistent malcontent and effort questions going all the way back to juniors

Kings can't even develop or utilize guys who WANT to be here, why does everyone think they can suddenly fix this guy with our 'great' leadership and development AND by throwing him a golden parachute?

Again, we're back to "hope is the strategy"

I mean look it is what it is at this point and we'll all just have to start the prayer circle for either a motivated PLD or a swift housecleaning, there's not going to be much left to trade after next year, we're precariously close to 'out of assets, time for a rebuild' territory and all we have to show for it is an absolutely embarassing 1st round exit where we tried to play passive anti-hockey after staffing the team with speedy forechecking.

So if this trade does gets done, do we at least give this guy three games in a Kings uniform before we hate him or should we just all hate him once the ink on the trade sheet dries?

Just want to know what I should do?

PLD was second in pts and plus/minus for Team Canada last years WC.
13 pts 10 games, plus 11. They won Silver.
It's a tournament he could have coasted through, but was apparently a leader
in terms of the base stats. WC is not the measuring stick for a Stanley Cup
series....but nonetheless, good to see. The WC can kinda be a go through the
motions and play the tournament, have fun, etc. Oh, is he a King or Jet?
