As much as I may dislike a trade, not like the guy we acquire, want the guy we trade to stay a king, etc — as soon as the guy we get becomes a king, he’s my guy. There have been many bad trades for several decades for me. Many bad guys or guys I can’t stand who’ve become a King. They become my guy and my full support once they put on the kings jersey (until they are gone).

I'm with you on that. I hope they see something in PLD that I don't. Vilardi was one of my favorite players last season. A real difference maker...and a great attitude.

Luc was represented by Brisson during his career, guarantee that's what's going on.

Also, I DON’T think this gets done now. Too much noise.

We heard zilch about Fiala until it was done. That’s usually the way things go. I think WPG and LA had a deal worked out but couldn’t agree on a contract for PLD.

I mentioned it earlier somewhere, but this could be the second big Kings trade under Blake/Robitaille- with roundabout connections to Marc Bergevin - that sees a deal fall through when the main piece, both times represented by Pat Brisson, couldn’t agree to terms on a contract extension.

And by my reckoning we were and will be better off that they didn’t/don’t happen.

Makes you wonder.

This interview of PLD with Friedman and Marek is pretty cool. A year ago, it seems.
They talk a lot about playing against and with others.
Good stuff...talked about what it was like playing with Panarin.

After watching this, he seems like an okay guy....talks about things happen for a reason and
it;s a buisness. He's such a big dude. Panarin and Fiala have similar deceptions and
moves to their games....maybe PLD and Fiala can help elevate each other.
If QB arises 2 more levels, could be insane to put QB LW, PLD C and Fiala on the right
(sure Kevin could play any F slot) If all 3 of those were at the top of their game, could
be lethal. PLD better push himself. He talks a good game here.

One of the rumors out there is that he really wants Montreal. I don't want someone here who isn't vested. Maybe a good player, just not the right one for the team. Get a goalie and deal with the center situation later.

That all sprang from an early analysis article weeks ago from him where Stephens, like many of us, assumed that Byfield could be in play.

It was not thrown out there as a "he's part of the trade" in any way, especially Stephens

Blake is going to f*** up this team even more than I thought was possible.

He needs to build around Clarke, Byfield, Vilardi, Kempe, Fiala, Anderson, and Danault. I'd put Kaliyev there too but I'd put him in the trade for PLD over Vilardi.

Thats an excessive level of hyperbole. When we dont even know the entire trade
