Gonna ask a stupid question, so I am definitely prepared for the answers,

But would anyone here NOT trade a BLUE chip prospect like Byfield, Turcotte, Clarke (one of) and a 1st for Sebastian Aho, Kyle Connor, Timo Meier, Matthew Tkachuk, Brady Tkachuk, Mitch Marner, Pasternak, Svechkinov etc?

Some of those players I would not.

Cap, team control, and fit in the locker room matter.

I would not have any of the Tkachuks for locker room fit. Meier has only one more year of control before looking for a massive payday which the Kings can't give - he walks. Marner's contract is a no go immediately since it would mean the King's third 10+ million cap hit. We'd have the Leaf's issues only we're older.

Right this minute? probably not.

Next year or so once we figure out what holes we actually have? Absolutely, pending age and other factors like position, cap, etc.

why? people deserve a second chance and he has 40 pts in 43 games, is the 3rd leading scorer on the team, almost 20 minutes of ice time for the 1st place team in the met. We can only speculate what Brindamour has done and what he is like in the locker room but if he was on the Kings with those stats- we are fighting for the pacific division title. I get the history- but so far doesnt seem to be an issue and hes clearly a stud for the Canes.

Deangelo's history dates back to before the draft. He's on chance #8 likely, given I'm sure all his infractions haven't hit the media. Let's see what he's like after this year, where he'd better be squeaky clean and produce or risk losing his career for good.

Byfield and Clarke are a no for me. They are in the realm of being as good as those guys you mentioned (and better than some). Turcotte I'd move, just because I don't think his ceiling could reach what those guys have managed to do.

Gotta feel bad for Turk if he ends up on the Yotes. I’m sure he’ll get ice time, but you could easily see him struggling on that kind of roster. And I doubt he thought he’d be playing in front of smaller crowds than his college team.

Agree, I wasn't necessarily looking at that, more feeling out how two lottery picks vs a sure thing.....plays out....and face it, Byfield and a 1st right now, two lottery tickets, Byfield, Clarke, Turcotte, 1st, are ALL lottery tickets, some have better odds, but was trying to figure out the level of risk people are safe with,

For me, given cap, team control, and fit, as you said 100% important, if that lines up, I trade two lottery tickets for a sure thing and twice on Sundays.

Yes to most of them, because it's just been so hard for the Kings to evaluate, draft and develop players like this. It's been 17 years this year since Kopitar was drafted, that was the last time we drafted an elite forward.

But players like this just rarely ever get traded so it's almost pointless to discuss. Eichel was our chance if we wanted to go down that path. It might be another 5 years before a player that good hits the market.

Easy accept for me if it were true. No one off the NHL roster, two guys who we have an excess of (centers and right handed d-man) and a pick likely outside of the top 20 in a below average draft for a 23 year old d-man who the previous two years had the highest goals-per-game in the league and is signed for $4.6 mill.

If this were true he'd already be a King. Guessing Phoenix is holding out for a bigger return that that though.

Maatta out of the lineup too. No brainer really.

It was more generic, would anyone do a 4 for 1.....1st round, Byfield, then JAD Vilardi for instance....

Agreed, players like that do not get traded often...not at that age....

Well, Jeff Carter is a handsome man, but I didn't know he had that kind of effect! Who needs porn?
Oh sorry for the confusion; I was referring to when we landed THIS guy. :naughty:

Jeff was simply the cherry on top.

Well defenseman can score goals too.

Don't we have like the least amount of goals by Dmen in the league or something close to?

yeah but Chychrun only has two of those. Maybe they're just not going in for him but frankly I am over having guys who are snakebitten.

Chychrun just makes perfect sense for this team. A pretty big position of need considering our LHD prospect pool is basically non existent. 23 years old, cheap ass contract for 3 more years for just 4 mil a year, big body with a bit of a mean streak as well…Was one of the top defenseman in the league just last season at 22 years old. Hard to gauge his struggles this season with how bad the Coyotes have been in general.

If blake can hold off until the price drops a bit, this is the move to make…

Aho, Connor, Pasternak and Svech I'd definitely consider, but "F' the other four. Especially the Chuk brothers.

I'm not particularly high on Chychrun. But I'm not completely opposed to acquiring him if the price is right.

His shooting percentage this season is 1.7% which means he's likely due for a bounce back in terms of goal scoring. The bigger concern is his poor defensive play.

I think the good and bad of it is Blake can just have a mexican standoff with them--AZ doesn't need to move him, LAK doesn't need to acquire him, it just makes sense for both parties to varying degrees.

In theory they SHOULD be able to craft a pretty good win-win deal but each side will also have to take on some risk.

I still think he finally ends up in one of the contenders instead (Blues or FLA) as someone who wants to go all in won't be able to resist his cap hit and juicing their team at the deadline.

I was sitting in my car on my lunch break when I heard Richards was coming to LA and I thought,,,,no way we don't win this thing. I watched that YT vid of him on "the shift" over and over again and thought, this guy is gonna teach our vets how to get over the top. I thought he brought Brownie to another level, especially when he checked Burrows in the playoffs at the blue line.
