Very unlike Kings organization to have struggling goalies. Also, very unlike them to have a soft as butter line up.

They've mostly been soft for quite some time now.

Wait and see what the draft brings, if you can package your 1st and XXXXX (say Grans, or Durzi, or Walker or any one of the dozen trade chips we have) for a younger scorer, with some term left....you do that, consolidate what you have for quality......

No idea, haven't delved that much into it, but it's helluva lot better idea than targeting older FA's in April......if you want I can take a look around.....

I’d imagine he lands in the 11m/yr range on the open market.

Forsberg- he’ll re up with the preds, he’s their only big free agent, they’re a playoff team and they have the room to pay him, plus the 8th year. If another team wants him badly enough to outbid Poile, they’ll need to trade for his rights as well.

It really just depends on what Kopi and Drew say to the bloggers at the end of the season. If they want Rob to jump higher, he’ll get the message.

Until the drafted talent in the organization take a step forward towards holding the reigns, any acquisition will be a bandaid for a gunshot wound.

You need the likes of Byfield, Clarke, Spence, Turcotte, Kaliyev etc. to grab another gear before making an acquisition to shore up any perceived hole in the roster.

It’s part and parcel why I get so frustrated with vets being spoon fed minutes unjustly, while we have loads of under developed talent that need those reps for the progression of the team.

For 2010-2020, yeah. But for pre-2010 Kings' history, what we're seeing now is really par for the course (Potvin and Vachon nonwithstanding, and I was too young to really appreciate the later). "Not all memories are good ones" (although, it really does drive home how special Quick was to this franchise).

No chance he gets that much. Only 3 wingers make 10+ Kane, Panarin and Marner . The salary cap is going up very little if at all. Forsberg at 9 mil x 7 would be an overpayment in 3 years. I know it only takes one GM with a different opinion to make you right and me wrong but thats ok as long as its not Blake.

Overpayment in however many years you want to call it, but I assure you that 11Mx7 is a very real number for what it will take a team to lock up Forsberg.

Whoever the Kings target in trade or FA, has to be talent. The Kings need talent. They sorely lack it. Aside from Kopitar, who is our most talented forward? Kempe? Danault? Vilardi? Kupari? These are all ifs. We need to have more established talent on the roster. It will bode very well in the future as Blake builds the team. I'd like for Blake to go after Kapanen in Pitt, but I think he's a RFA. Forsberg would be a great add, but at what price. Fiala would be good too, but I don't think the talent is quite there with him. Blake's got his work cut out for him. We also need a lite enforcer.
