Not sure if this was posted already, but if Doughty is gone for the season, what are we to do? Perhaps we should have been sellers. Rough position to be in if you’re Blake. You’ve got a playoff team that can’t ice a full roster.

The lack of sandpaper and grit wouldn't have been a problem if you hit on 1 or 2 of the 4 picks by now. If you are set with say Zegras and Suzuki or Boldy and Norris you just trade Kupari, Iafallo or this years first or something like that to get great character players. Blake can't do that because none of his skill players have shown squat and he has to hold all of them as well as his first rounder in the hopes that one of them shows something to the team by the end of next years camp. Nothing wrong with targeting skilled forwards in the draft, but you have to hit on them and hit relatively quickly or the whole thing will fall apart.

The lack of any type of tangible results from those picks is starting to hit now with the lack of complimentary scoring, and will get even worse next season if atleast 1 of them doesn't shine through and become a player.

I was going to say in my post that it is okay to not draft any grit (I know they took Helenius last year...no surprise they really like him and want him over here ASAP) in favor of getting skill but you have to hit on it. It's looking a little worrisome on that front at the forward position.

Blake is going to have to move one of these forward prospects and one of the RHD to fix the forward problem.

""Mikey Anderson gone 6-8 weeks"" It's already been 2 weeks, I think.

Geez...that play along the boards with Marhchand looked like nothing. Broken rib(s) would not even be 8-10 weeks. Spleen? But that would have been surgery.

Guessing hip or pelvis.

The problem is the "once healthy". There's nothing that torpedoes a team's chances more than injuries. Almost every time you look at a team that underperformed and missed the playoffs, you can bet that it lost a bunch of person-games to injury. The playoffs depend on the Kings getting healthy as soon as possible.

100%....but last summer, did you think they were in this position or not? Raccoon said this before, Kings are literally playing with house money at this point

Just add something in free agency & let the prospects simmer.

We did add former 1st round pick Hickey!

No. Feel free to ignore me or engage with me, you know what forums like this are for? This post is pathetic.

How are these posts even allowed? Some of the crap I've gotten infractions for over the years yet clowns like this can freely make non-content posts attacking someone. It's unfortunate that this board continues to take a bad turn to be like the other one that so many escaped from.

LOL join the club

some are quiet provocateurs and it's the reactionaries that get banned

“Attacking”….lol. Wow.

Ok, you're right. Bad choice of words. But what is the point of his post? If you disagree with me I am happy to engage, his post adds nothing to the discussion at all. People have a right to an opinion here, if someone doesn't want to hear or have a discussion on it they can ignore me or anyone else.

His post is pointless.

Better to do nothing than do something stupid.

Let's hope picks and prospects are a more valued commodity at the draft or during the summer. Gonna be some tough decisions the upcoming offseason. They better get which prospects to keep and which to move right or this whole thing is gonna blow up.

Sounds like we've got multiple episodes of the beginning stages of meltdowns going on here.
I dont know I think most have been anticipating the Kings coming back back down to Earth. Expect more “I told you so” and “fire tmac and Blake” than meltdowns. Every point of view is valid depending on how you look at it.

I think the moves made last summer set the expectation that this team was going to make the playoffs.

I think they maybe expected to get there a different way, maybe not with Danault and Kempe scoring this much and maybe with more from Iafallo and Byfield but I think last summers moves were made with the expectation of making the playoffs.

A month ago I'd say the majority opinion on these boards was that the playoffs would be found money, and that we should stay the course at the deadline unless we could add extra depth for cheap or make a deal to add to our core (a la Chychrun or Garland). Then, the team went through a rough patch mainly due to injuries piling up out of nowhere. The cheap deals weren't there with how many buyers there were this year, and prices for players like Chychrun and Garland were also inflated as a result. I don't think we even add Stetcher if we weren't dealing with injuries, and we did it basically for free.

Bottom line, it sucks that we're in a skid, but this team has shown much more than most of us anticipated this summer. If we miss the playoffs, yes, it could be a huge blow to team morale, but I think it's even more likely that it would leave the majority of this team even hungrier next year. There's also the draft, free agency, and the potential for trades in the summer to further improve this roster.

The trainer was holding Anderson's arm when they went off so maybe a broken collar bone. Anybody ever had a collapsed lung? That was another thought I had before looking at the video again.

Lately the number has unfortunately gone up, but overall I disagree. I feel like for me personally I have great discussions here with the vast majority of people. Some I often agree with like Ziggy and BigKing and many I have my disagreements with like RJ and KP. But there is almost always a respect level and a good exchange whether we agree or not. I just don't get the point in the posts like I was replying to, if people don't want to hear what I have to say just ignore, there is a reason the forum has that feature. I've personally never used it (although I've been tempted to recently) but if what someone says bothers you enough to tell them to stop posting its maybe something that person should consider.
