If they're going to trade a core prospect in a package, the player they're getting back has to be young enough and good enough that you won't be getting headaches 2 years from now when current vets finally fall off the cliff predictably failing to win another Cup and that prospect looks like the second coming of Justin Williams or Mike Richards or Slava Voynov (minus the incident). The safe play is simply to wait longer (at least until summer) unless it's something like 2nd rounder + Madden level prospect at most, as much as that might piss off the vets.

Well I guess if there are any recent positives, it’s that Kupari and Vilardi both look pretty good. I wonder if we should move Byfield out of center though.

I’d trade Turcotte, Grans, and a first for JT Miller and stick him at center too.

I’d trade Turcotte, Grans, and a first for JT Miller and stick him at center too.

Then let’s give him a big contract! Dude’s got 73 points in 60 games this season. Over the past three seasons, he’s been more effective than Kopitar and he’s five years younger.

I understand the sour that people feel about the lack of development from the top end of the prospect pool, but Turcotte isn’t the player to trade away from it.

Hold on. You saying someone in Kings management might have a tiny clue of what they're looking at? Come on, it's a forward. The Kings don't know F talent.

But yeah, he signed, and re-signed, for very cheap, he's 28, with more AHL games than NHL games. He's a very good AHL scorer, who just isn't quite good enough to stick in a scoring role in the NHL. I know, I know, neither is Iafallo.

in one of the threads on the lindholm trade someone named @Dom said the kings upped the offer for JC so the bruins pivoted to lindholm , maybe thats why it is so quiet something actually is brewing . kind of feel they need to do something .maybe not this big . to help the team get thru these last 18 games being that we are actually in a pretty good chance of a playoff spot

Kupari + Grans + #1 2022 + #1 2023 - Chychrun + #2 2022 (Kings do better in the 2nd round anyway and would be around #34 overall)
