Fun fact....Kings have lost last 4 OT games. Tmac started 8/9/11 & last night 9/11 and Durzi in all of those games.

2 of those OT losses came in the first shift of the game and the other 2 games didnt games didnt get past the half way mark of OT. Yet Tmac rolls the same lines over and over and OT strategy still looks like like there is no strategy to be had.
AS soon as I saw the three out to start OT I was asking why. If you feel the need to have kopitar there for the faceoffs than why not Fiala?
Is Durzi really a better option than a 3rd forward?

Regarding "non-roster player status" from lakingsinsider:

“Upon approval of the Commissioner, a Player who is unavailable to play due to reasons other than injury, illness or disability will be designated a Non-Roster Player, and during such period of his designation as such he will not count against the Club’s Active Roster limit and his Club may replace such Player.”

These absences are typically shorter-term, nothing long-term is expected here regarding Arvidsson. Further updates will be provided tomorrow when the team is back on the ice at morning skate.

Guessing some type of family situation?

In this case, Hoping Fagemo gets another shot. Being scratched after scoring a goal is the TMac special.

With the rumor perking that Moore is getting a contract extension we seem to for once in our life have more wingers then we know what to do with. We also have that massive hole on left defense and way to many right shot offensive guys.

Would you guys be good with a Philly trade

Kempe - 4 years at 5,500,000 UFA
Durzi - 2 years at 1,700,00 RFA

for

Provorov - 3 years left at 6,750,000 UFA

I know he seems to have regressed a bit but he is helping carry a broken team just as I see Doughty doing. I think both players would thrive playing with each other as boost each other. It would also allow us to slot our dmen into proper slots just like we are finally able to do with wingers. No more Iafallo on the top line but on the 3rd where he belongs and can thrive.

Provorov - Doughty
Anderson - Spence (Clarke)
Bjornfot - Roy
Edler

Top pair plays 25 minutes a night (hard assignments)

Split time between the other two pairings.

Not sure if Philly would do it. Looking at their team there is a lot of injuries and a big mess in player personnel. Rumor is they are trying to trade Ristolainen and that would leave Durzi slotting in behind Braun and Deangelo with Braun being UFA at years end.

Not sure if the Fylers would do that but I would be all about it.

Well, Tmac is the kind of person who is watching the same movie again and again while expecting to see different ending

Ideal lineup going into next season:

Fiala-Kopitar-Kaliyev
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi
Grundstrom-Lizotte-Kupari
Fagemo, open spot

Anderson-Doughty
TRADE-Clarke
Bjornfot-Durzi
Roy/Walker

Quick
Literally whoever

Package one of Walker or Roy with Kempe and a pick if necessary for a defensive minded LHD to play big minutes next to Clarke on the second pairing.

I’m also open to pairing Anderson with Durzi to help cover for him, and putting Bjornfot back with Doughty.

Kopitar has turned around his season, but Byfield is torching the AHL right now, so maybe next year he really starts to take over. Turcotte also may be ready to go as a bottom six winger next season, too, assuming he stays healthy.

Lol, July was 6 months ago.
If you are alluding to the fact it takes 9 months for a baby, most people wait 12+weeks to announce

Needs spence

Ideally, Spence is at the bare minimum our 7th. But I just can't see Blake parting with BOTH Roy and Walker. One of them, sure, but not both.

That third RHD slot is pretty competitive as soon as next season. Again, ideally, Durzi is a perfect third RHD who can play protected minutes 5v5, quarterback the top PP unit, etc. I know a lot of people want him gone because of his defensive lapses, but he's a special offensive talent. With Doughty and Clarke emerging as the top two RHDs for the next 3-4 years, this creates a long term problem for Spence.

Spence is a great prospect and arguably a future top four D in this league. It's a tough call. If Spence shows early on that he can provide comparable offense to Durzi in that third RHD spot, then yeah, we move Durzi.

I don't know if Roy's always been like that but he completely sucks at blocking cross ice passes.
Time and again on the PK the puck just goes between his feet or under his stick, and on odd man rushes, no attempt at blocking the pass (ex. last night).
Fox properly called it out later on without naming him.
But what happened to getting a stick down or getting on one knee to block a pass? Is that not a good way to defend anymore? I just don't see it much.

An ideal line up for any hockey team would include at least one goaltender. The Kings need goaltending at least as much as they do another Dman. While the rest of the lineup is pretty good next year would not be any better without a decent goalie.
