Jeannot scored more goals in his rookie season than AI ever has, Jeannot has an edge to his game and is 5 years younger.

We have Cal's $5,000,000 sitting in the AHL. McDonagh is 1 year longer than Cal's contract at 1.75M more. McDonagh would contribute at the NHL level & wouldn't be overly expensive to acquire as Nashville probably just wants out of long term contracts now that Poile has announced his retirement & Trotz likely to take over.

Also, not many playoff teams have the ability to take on that contract. King's, because of Cal's contract are able to take it on at a pretty even hit. Gaborik for Phaneuf, if you will.

Other than the Jeannot trade I don’t think the prices for Meier, Barbashev, Orlov & Hathaway, ROR & Accairi and Tarasenko & Mikkola are that bad. Lots of late 1st round picks and meh prospects.

But the Jeannot price was just wow, but we’ll see how he does.
