Kings would have to win the cup this playoffs to do something that desperate. It's possible the Kings give up a 1st to get rid of Petersen if they get desperate.
It depends on a lot of things though.
You don't think Durzi has been a problem the last two games?Walker has been quite good lately, doubt he comes out of the lineup. Spence is just up in case of injury, I doubt he minds given the pay difference.
Defense hasn't been the problem at all. It's lacking two key offensive players (negating our matchup advantage) and missing out on some puck luck. Lots of posts and near misses that could have easily went in. Even getting one of Fiala or Vilardi back will make a significant difference. I'd hold everyone that's injured out until the last game or two even if they feel healthy.
Offense is exactly why I suggested Spence (J. $pendz) comes in.Walker has been quite good lately, doubt he comes out of the lineup. Spence is just up in case of injury, I doubt he minds given the pay difference.

Don't hesitate to reply to my posts, I consider you a solid poster.
Thank you
I would assert that while the defense has been really stout it's come at the expense of trying on offense like, at all. It's away from the system. It all looks like 2022 Game 7, playing not to lose, instead of our usual system. And now the Oilers have a blueprint on how to beat THAT, too.
Durzi WAS on for both goals, though I wouldn't say he played poorly. Then again, Jack Johnson theory.
The McDavid shorty last week was 100% on Durzi. Since then he has been more dialed in, but no matter how well he plays the puck his initial positioning and reads are just really poor. May not be his "fault" - and I hate using that word because very, very few goals are due to individual errors - but the team is already handicapped by the nature of having a right shot trying to deal with board battles and break outs. It just shouldn't be happening.Durzi, he's been OK. I wouldn't say things have been his fault, but he hasn't been playing as good as he can either. He'd be the first to come out if a change is made.
Yeah for sure. They lost two creators and are having trouble adapting. Fiala especially is an entry wizard, they definitely miss that. Transitions aren't as seamless as they need to be.
I don't know why the team isn't just doing what they normally do outside of just not being as familiar and comfortable. Credit the OIlers for knowing exactly how to bottle up where they need to the last couple of games. That will completely change if guys come back, though. It definitely doesn't look like a change in anything systematic, just not executing.
Your calculations are wrong. We haven't even hit June 15, 2023 as you did it off June 15, 2024. Cal Petersen Buyout Results - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

With a buyout, Cal's cap hit next season is $5.16 million. The following season he would have $167k cap hit and then the last 2 years $1.167 million per year.
Need to take care of this one first before we start talking about the year after next.I said next off season. Not this off season.
Heh…at least Makar’s out???Seattle is 4 points back with a game in hand and owns the tiebreaker. Kings could be dining on rocky mountain oysters in the 1st round if they are not careful.
At this point, I’d rather play a not-as-hungry, beat up team like the Avs than either the Knights or Oilers.Seattle is 4 points back with a game in hand and owns the tiebreaker. Kings could be dining on rocky mountain oysters in the 1st round if they are not careful.
Good to be getting MikeyAndo back.. but def need Fiala as well obviously to make 3 scoring lines... my guess top 6 falloff is partly due to Fiala gone. For what it’s worth, Patrick O’Neal said Anderson will be back soon during the first intermission.
Yeah, even without him I think our blueline is way better than last year going into Round 1. Where we really miss him though is his willingness to get stuck in and be an answer for the Oilers post whistle shenanigans. To be honest, Anderson is the one we need back the least.
Without Fiala and Vilardi exploiting third line match ups, our offense has fallen off a cliff.
I basically wrote the same thing not having read this.. just so you know im not a plagiaristTo be honest, Anderson is the one we need back the least.
