Y’all talk on this thread like having a player like Danault be your third center is a bad thing or something. I look forward to the day we have a player like Danault in the bottom six because that will mean our center prospects fully graduated at least two NHL top six centers. To me, 5 on 5, Danault is a better player than Jarrett Stoll (and I really appreciated him).

In the meantime, we can face the upcoming teams of the West in a 7 game series like Colorado. Kopitar already owns MacKinnon, and now we put Danault on him too. No matter home or road, we get the first change or last change, we can neutralize the other team’s top center/line. That’s usually a large enough edge if the rest of our lineup is deep.
