I was told by someone yesterday that this board was not crying about losing him...I must be massively hallucinating because I sure don't remember it that way.
Most of the whining was "losing him for nothing" as opposed to just losing him. It's almost like some people forget get there is a business side to the sport they love. ( and teams don't trade for players that need to be waived to be send down - so it's not like LA could have gotten much of anything for him).

Fagemo isn’t an NHL player, re-claiming him is a whole lotta nothing.

Laf-PLD-Arty has the potential to be complete shit show defensively, but I do like the thought of throwing the Keys to PLD and forcing him to drive a line. He sure does like to cruise otherwise.

Losing a 2nd round pick for nothing is pisspoor no matter how much you want to cheerlead it

Either it was a bust pick and an indictment of your drafting

Or it was a bust development and an indictment of your asset management.

PLD and Kaliyev haven't shown me any forechecking acumen so I'm not exactly excited about this. But maybe driving his own line awakens PLD

This line has "Kaliyev gets benched" (for other people's issues) written all over it imo.

This is obviously not true.

People being critical with reason getting criticized by people that are mad that they are being critical with no reason is getting yawn-worthy on this board.
You're criticism was totally unreasonable. 2nd round picks don't pan out all the time.

If you want to accept that it's totally your perogative.

Anyway I'm not gonna go back and dig up the reasonable thesis behind that post because the complaints about it aren't thoughtful critiques, they're passive-aggressive targeted drivebys pissing and moaning about being a good fan and whatnot. That was the point.

Kings have some options now to fill Arvidssons spot.

Laffy, who is currently there and also now Fagemo and as I mentioned Thomas, if they want more a mucker and all around player.

That spot should have Turcottes name all over it.

He is the only NHL ready prospect with a polished puck pursuit game, which has been MIA on the Dubois line all season.

PLD and Blake are being saved by the emergence of QB and Talbot (Englund a bit too). Without Talbot and QB's emergence, wow things could be a disaster right now.

Just hoping Talbot can stay healthy and PLD eventually wakes up. It's a bit painful thinking what if we had GV still and used AI/Kupari/2nd (& PLDs cap space) for something needed -- like a decent backup goalie. Maybe even a lesser expensive, engaged PF center (even with GV sent off). Heck, i wish we simply kept and used that 2nd round pick.
Even if Talbot stays healthy, dude ain’t playing the next 69 games straight. Blake really f***ed this up to practically no one’s surprise.

I haven’t seen anything from Turcotte that makes me think he’s better than Laf or Jad right now. I’m not opposed to giving him a try though.

We miss RV, especially on the PP, but I think he needs to stay on LTIR.

Other illness/injuries are going to happen, the younger players will get games, no need to mess with what's working right now.

Being at home and having the last line change, may allow us to get them out in opportune times. We still have three very go two way lines and 1 poor two way line. Nothing really changes.

No, just change PL and Byfield on PP1

I was thinking about this, if Spence is on an entry level contract, he is making a little over 4k every day he is on the NHL roster during the season. So when they send him to Ontario on paper, he is taking something like a 3500 dollar a day paycut. Is that correct? I would love to know more on this because that is a lot of cheddar Jordan is missing out on.

Or you could look at it as the guy he brought in to be a number one goalie has been an absolute stud and the guy that played his ass off and saved our ass last year lost a step. It is a lot easier to replace a 1B or back up goalie than to find a real good 1A which she seem to do.

I may not be the biggest Blake fan right now but he did insulate us by signing a proven NHL veteran for the AHL. Maybe it’s time to try that option before me completely go after the GM with pitchforks and torches.

The GM lost his insulation from pitchforks and torches long ago. Even an angler fish that’s never seen the sunlight saw this shit coming.

i don't know if your math is right and i'm certainly not an accountant, but if you're accounting for the fact that they're only paid for the season and there's signing/performance bonuses and per diems and shit involved then yeah, i think that's pretty close to how it works

Any opinion about PLD? Living in Ontario canada I don’t get to see the kings play. But the two games I saw him, he appeared quite unimpressive… floating around

Floating around is being generous. More like just stands around. Somehow he is getting points though.
Hope he will get it together and make more of an impact in controlling the game as he has the talent to do so.

floaty for sure but even looking like kinda shit on a line that's clearly not clicking, he's on a 25 goal 50 point pace so... /shrug

i think he'll contribute more as time goes on but i can definitely see why people don't like him
