Zadorov asked for a trade after the game (scoring a goal and laying a big hit). Would make the Kings D-core insane.

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Roy
Zadorov-Spence

Move Roy at the TDL or let him walk in the offseason so Clarke can move up (like they did with JMFJ & Voynov).
We already have Englund for the bottom 6 D tough guy role. And a cheaper cap hit.

The Danault line has also been pretty quiet the last couple games. This shakes it up as well.

My understanding is the Kings were 27th in line to make a waiver claim (reverse order of current standings). So the first 26 teams passed on Fagemo. If none of the teams above the Kings (Bruins, Rangers, Knights, Canucks) put in a claim on Fagemo, the Kings can assign him directly to the AHL. If they did, Kings will have to waive him again.

I don't love that Laf-PLD-AK configuration.
I don't either. If it was RV-PLD-AK though, I think there would be something there.

Pace-wise Kaliyev really fits well, Laf not so much. I would be tempted to just swap centers and put PLD between Arty and Moore, but Danault-Moore have undeniable chemistry.

Poor guy. Probably thought he was going to get a chance with Nashville only to end up back in Ontario.
I'm guessing he ends up in Europe to make some good $$$. If you aren't making it with Nashville this year as a forward, you probably aren't making it.

Kings have 1,175 dollars in cap space.

Zadorov makes 3.75 million.

Englund makes 1 million.

So do the math…

Also, Kings are basically using Englund as their enforcer now also and Zadorov is a terrible fighter. Phaneuf edged him out.
The move for Zadorov gets done by moving Roy out and bringing Clarke up. That’s arguably a way to get Clarke in the NHL and keep a balanced lineup. Not sure I’d do it though.

When you make a waivers claim, doesn't it put you last in line for the next waived player? I could be wrong about that.

I think Danault and Moore are very complimentary players who play well with anyone. Danault was actually much better last year with Fiala than with Moore, but Moore wasn't 100%.

I would have gone with:
Moore-PLD-Kaliyev
Fiala-Danault-Laf

This lineup still needs another winger IMO. Hopefully Laf develops further. I'm convinced we don't see RV until the playoffs.

Zad plays the left side.

I highly doubt he's an upgrade over Englund. And he's certainly a downgrade from Roy.

PLD and Kaliyev haven't shown me any forechecking acumen so I'm not exactly excited about this. But maybe driving his own line awakens PLD

No. Until (I think) the end of October, the order is determined by last year's standings. Afterwards, it goes by standings - that's the only way the order changes.
