Yeah. I get the feeling that he had a meeting with management before the firing. Blake went in saying everything will be fine after the break the players just need to play better. Management came back and said you need to fire Todd right now and if things don't turn around this season than you'll be gone too. You can see it in his face and tone.

I don't even think they forced that, he might be on his own there. I'm hoping it's a cutoff of all cash and selling any sort of future assets until further notice.

Roy and Kaliyev could get you a nice return. If the rumor that Walker is being moved for a first, Roy could get that and more. You want Spence and Clarke moving forward, that's how its going to go.

Blake doesn’t look happy in this press conference. Other than having to fire his buddy, he knows this could be it for him.

He knows damn well his big move in the off season will cost him his job. It's one thing to free up space moving a bad contract goalie, it's another to use that space for a complete dud...for 7 more years. Nobody will be surprised when they buy him out.

Blake seemed pretty clueless about what Hiller brings to the team. “He’s a different person” and a minute later a reporter is talking about Hiller coming from different coaches and backgrounds, basically walking Blake through who the interim coach is. It was a sight to see.

Should be obvious that Blake isn’t running the team.

The big question though, is this coming from Luc and Bergervin gunning for him, or is it from the very top and they are all gone?

Usually after big moves or moving on from somebody, Blake and Luc usually have a united front. When they traded Muzzin, Luc sent out a letter to STH to outline their vision. Same with Stevens, hiring Desjardins, then Koala etc.

Did anyone see Luc anywhere near this? Has he said anything? Total radio silence. Last I heard him was on some program talking up the Australia trip and how that was the catalyst for their road success. Since they started losing, radio silence.

The issue is the third line has two players who are both RW, so one of Kayilev or Arvidsson will need to play LW. Or Hiller can move Grunstrom up to LW and shift Arvidsson over and move Kayilev to 4th line RW.

waivers exempt, might not have a choice but to send him down. i haven't done the cap math though. maybe you carry laf if you lose JAD? i've seen enough of JAD personally, nothing against him but i'd just take the chance on waivers at this point. he's your prototypical tweener from the looks of things

think johnny's pretty much on the money there with potentially some winger swaps in the middle depending on how hiller does things

Whilst I don’t really disagree JAD is a good 13F. I’d rather see him in the press box than a younger or higher ceiling prospect that could/should be getting ice in the AHL at a minimum. He can do a job if a late injury occurs. That said I wouldn’t be too gutted if we lost him to waivers although it would hurt depth.

I really think the Kings should take the rest of the year to see what they have with Byfield and let him play center. I’d try something like:

Moore-Kopitar-Kempe
Dubois-Danault-Arvidsson
Fiala-Byfield-Kaliyev/Laferriere
Lizotte-Turcotte-Grundstrom/Lewis

I sure hope he can stay healthy. Love what he brings to the table. If you could just put Turcotte's brain into Dubois's body, we would have exactly what the team needs.
