Okay so I wanna give my opinion on this since a part of what I do in my career with people is being able to read them well…

So a few things I noticed.

1. He’s got very low confidence in the team right now to turn things around.
2. His responses to questions about Todd and being forced to fire him seems like he was forced to this decision by high above since the answer was very quick and he was expecting it.
3. Byfield will continue to play wing
4. He’s not happy at all with Dubois
5. Kaliyev is done
6. Roy is going to be moved
7. He really really liked Todd judging by his emotional reaction talking about firing him/hiring him.
8. He was lying a lot judging by his pitch when asked questions. Higher pitch in response to questions is usually deceptive but normal pitch to responses is usually honest. The way his tone changes from question to question was pretty blatant.

Conclusion: he doesn’t know what to do and thinks the Kings are toast.

Blake doesn’t look happy in this press conference. Other than having to fire his buddy, he knows this could be it for him.
Yup. He definitely doesn’t think things will improve. He seems like he’s given up.

A post above mine has a link to Rob having a discussion. Look in there for it :/
i think that's a pretty generous interpretation of what he said

he "yep yep yep"s pretty much every question and "i don't think anyone is happy when they're not playing" is a far cry from "yes we have received his trade request and are searching for a partner"

Blake will go down as the absolute dumbest GM the Kings ever had. He’s really really thick.

Based on what Blake is saying, he's clueless to what is going on. He thinks this team is a playoff team and doesn't understand the countless micro failures over the past 2 months in any other terms besides "they need to play better".

So it's really on Hiller right now. Does he see things that everyone else doesn't? Does he actually have ideas to right the ship? We'll only see after thursday. Hopefully we see some huge line changes, ones which indicate where his head is at for the better

Is Blake capable of calmly listening to a question and answering without interrupting the reporter? This guy fidgets more than Tuco on Breaking Bad. Every single question he’s saying yea before the reporter gets five words out. He says yes the team sucks without hesitation over and over again.

Honestly, I feel bad for him at this point. I’m sure he doesn’t need this shit and would rather be making fly fishing plans with Todd. His answers indicate that he is aware that his job is on the line. You have to wonder if he feels like he is out of answers. Similar to Todd after the Buffalo game.

On the speculation that Arthur Kaliyev has asked for a trade out of Los Angeles:

Well, it hasn’t went well for him this year, being in and out of the line up and different things. We had higher, I guess a higher understanding of where he would be at, at this time of the season. But it has not worked that way. [reporter follow-up: Is Kaliyev unhappy here?] I don’t think anyone is happy when they’re not playing.

----
That's pretty clear to me, but I can certainly be wrong. If it was a 'No' wouldn't Blake have been blunt and just said...no?

Idk how you interpret it like that broski. Hes obviously looking into moving Kaliyev

Very happy that it seems AEG is on Blake. I was worries they would continue to be absent and think Blake is doing an acceptable job.

I just hope that they have told him he needs to fix this with basically what he has -- meaning no big trades of future assets to save the season. Small tweaks and adjustments are ok but no selling that #1 pick and valuable young players (not that we have much). And if things don't magically turn around -- you are gone. Please i hope so.

I'm really curious what Hiller and the staff will do with the team from this point. I think the key to saving this whole season is going to be getting the entire team back on the same page. I hope they bag skate Dubois if he keeps loggygagging around. I also think getting Arvidsson back will help the depth a lot. Turcotte deserves to stay and should center the 4th line with Lizotte out.

Today i learned that youcan tell when somebodys lying by thier voice changing pitch when answering a question
Lol
You know what would save this country? Having technology that would not allow people to lie, ever. It might actually build trust back. I personally find it refreshing when people admit their faults and work to fix things. Everyone in a high ranking position is just trying to save their ass, especially in politics.

You mean actually really taking responsibility for what they say and do?
Only if it enriches the bottom line

We are officially in throw shit against the wall time, and I'm fine with that. Just no panic trades to try and "fix" this.

We should have started throwing shit against the wall a LONG time ago. The whole point of having a deep team is the ability to throw shit against the wall, adapt to changes and adversity, and create new angles of attack. That was what made the Sutter teams so successful, especially 2014.

Which makes it all the more frustrating that we have hired folks who are anathema to change and experimentation. Hopefully Hiller is different

Arvidsson has risen from the grave, and they put Lizotte into it
Are we sure this 5'10" "Arvidsson" guy isn't just 2 Blake Lizottes in a trench coat?

Dude seems so uptight...Gives zero insight into what Hiller philosophy is.. just says different guy different meeting times blah blah blah. AEG needs to bring in the black SUVs with their jackboots and walk everyone out in early April.
Let him cook?
