Just like had you told me in May 2014 that Todd McLellan was going to be the next long term coach of the Kings... I'm telling you now that Kopitar has Upper Management Potential written all over him

We just might be snoozing here
Kopitar in a recent interview (I think it was After Hours following the Edmonton game), he said he's returning to Slovenia when he's done playing.

I'm no cap scientist either, but I think we've been gaining cap space with Arvidsson off the roster for so long. If I remember correctly, cap hit is spread out over the year literally, so what we owe in cap to Arvidsson is just half a year's worth of cap instead of a full year. So that money would literally clear any bonuses our rookies make.

So that's a bull pucky explanation

Oh the ability to do that. That sounds like a lovely idea. Slovenia is really pretty and the people there are friendly, lucky that he can leave chaotic cali behind and go back home.

And i am willing to move Doughty to have Clarke, Roy, Spence.

Press Box will do
Sign me up for dealing Drew. Putting him in the press box makes zero sense.

Doughty for Marner.

They’re scared of him being too good? That makes a ton of sense for a team trying to contend. Why even call him up then and risk losing (and actually losing) Bjornfot? The bonuses weren’t an issue with Bjornfot and he was already on the roster and could have gone on the road trip as defensive insurance. Hoven’s “explanation” makes no sense. It’s clearly ass covering from the organization’s PR person.

This team is a cap team, so should they not put best team on the ice? If he hits that bonus than the team is better off.

now here me out ... Corey Perry ... yes he's a Ahole but he can be our Ahole .. haha
f*** no

Maybe they wouldn't have to worry about less than a million in bonuses from a ready top pick if an ancient "captain" on his last legs didn't take $7 million for two more years after earning well over $100 million in his career.
Get over his past earnings. Kopitar will be worth more than $7M next year. Full stop

Re-signed Petersen, TM, and signed PLD. What is gonna take?
Don't forget Kovalchuk

They constantly yo-yo between “we’re contenders now” and “we’re building for the future” so they can have plausible deniability while doing neither of those things well.

And I don’t think we can dismiss the possibility that Hoven is being 100% truthful in his reporting and that this is the actual galaxy-brained decision making being done by management.

Definitely on my bucket list of places to visit.

I used to like him more but when they started with their donkey bullshit and misconstruing what people are actually saying they got on my bad side.

And they get extra snarky towards fans when the team is actually struggling. f***ing tools.

The bolded i think is the issue with the Kings in general. They are trying to walk down two paths at the same time. Fans were sold on a rebuild, but that was cut short as soon as players like Danault and Fiala were brought in.

That's the hitch

to even hit those bonuses he'd have to have a near norris worthy half-season

so we're benching him in fear of him helping the team

#masterclass
Do you honestly believe they are not playing him becouse he will help the team or just being whiney?

That is what Blake’s minister of propaganda told us, and nothing else makes sense about him being up as a healthy scratch.

The bonuses to Clarke over a half season would equate to a 20 goal, 80 point full season, from a blue liner. And they are apparently worried that he may achieve that and cost the team $850k in bonuses.

This is for a team that has called itself a cup contender.

1. Clarke isn’t hitting those bonuses

2. Even if he did, it would be spectacular and would put the team much closer to its stated goal of winning a cup.

Nothing makes sense about the development of this player. But then again, very little has made sense about how the Blake regime has handled many of the prospects.

I keep oscillating between denial and anger about just how long PLD's presence is going to be f***ing us... Utter disbelief at how much of total f***up Rob Blake has been as our GM, followed by blinding rage and wishing I could brain him with a cast iron skillet.
