That is what Blake’s minister of propaganda told us, and nothing else makes sense about him being up as a healthy scratch.

The bonuses to Clarke over a half season would equate to a 20 goal, 80 point full from a blue liner. And they are apparently worried that he may achieve that and cost the team $850k in bonuses.

This is for a team that has called itself a cup contender.
Yeah, nothing about how he's being managed makes sense. We'll be lucky if we have more than three players even score 20 goals, the way things are going.

Hopefully, the Kings aren't holding Clarke out to prevent injury while working on a trade....but Blake is likely going to go big before he gets fired.

AEG please fire these nitwits.

Yup.

Desperate GM’s do desperate things. We saw this with Lombardi and his giving away 1st round picks towards the end, and with Taylor too. People forget since both guys kind of fizzled out, but Tambellini and Grebeshkov were both highly thought of at the time they were traded.

I’m terrified what a desperate Blake and Luc will do to try and save their jobs.

It's gonna be a doozy of an estate sale

wonder how many 7th rounders we can get for formerly top 90 picks

Sign me up for dealing Drew. Putting him in the press box makes zero sense.

Doughty for Marner
This is the first year of his modified NTC.
His 7 team list will be unrealistic and i highly doubt Toronto will be on there.
A little Press Box should fix that

I can absolutely see a scenario where one of Spence or Clarke gets dealt at the deadline, we lose Roy for nothing in the summer, and then suddenly we’re looking for a right handed defenseman after years of being loaded in that position. In the words of RJ, #masterclass

“What was he supposed to do?”

I advocated Doughty for Marner when he first complained about the rebuild and Marner was slumping. it would have been a great trade

When Koala(8,9,11) passes away (I hope he lives a long life for the record).. hey should donate his brain to science to see if its made of cement or has CTE.

4-D Chess.

Dave Taylor got nine seasons and at least won a playoff series. Blake will be at seven seasons after this one and probably still searching for that first series win. If he finishes next season as GM, I think that ties him with Rogie for 3rd longest GM tenure in Kings history.

The current #s 2, 3 and 4 in longest GM tenure also have their jerseys up in the rafters. You can't make this shit up.

Dustin Brown, step on up.

Did Brown move out of state after retiring, or am I remembering incorrectly?

Brown strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn't want to deal with the BS that comes with running a hockey team, and would rather spend his time and his millions with his family.

Either way, when it ends for this regime, I really hope the next one is free of anyone with any past connections to the team.

Moved back to NY

I think they should put Doughty and Clarke on rotation.

Drew gets the occasional vet rest day, Clarke gets game experience without being rushed.

It won't happen, but that's what I would do.

His wife would be a better executive.

RoR 16g20a this season - UFA 4.5 mil for 4 years. How nice would it be to have that production for 4 years as a bridge retaining GV.. not losing any assets.. sigh

Clarke is going nowhere. The problem is you have 2 guys and one spot again, and Roy above them . So you move Roy, lose experience to make room, or move Spence to make room again and hope you can sign Roy. Not sure you want Spence and Clarke as your 2-3 RHD going into the playoffs.

The playoffs that will end in a first round exit, assuming they make it.

The only way he'd have played here is if he's the 1c, which he is in Nashville.
And there's this...
