Damn, a lot of Kings fans want the forever rebuild. Just waste away the end of Doughty Kopitar’s careers. Just keep building guys. Maybe 2 or 3 years from now Kopitar is done and Byfield will be a 2C. 2-3 years Doughty might be done but don’t worry Clarke might be ready to be a good #2D. Just keep the tread mill of a little better than average. But at least you will have prospects.
this.
X500M. with blake, robitaille and bergevin, the kings have the biggest boys club going since mctavish etc on those edmonton mgmt teams. those 3 stooges would make a great comedy team if they weren't us.

For the Kings, their 2 super high Forward draft picks that were expected to lead the next wave in Turcotte and Byfield haven't panned out as expected. Turcotte has been hurt a lot (and it's been head injuries as well), and Byfield has been slow to develop. If this was Boldy and Stutzle production, then I fully get LA pushing their chips in to make the most of the rest of Kopi and DD.

Right now, they are kind of at the in between. Secondary prospects are doing well. But, lack the top end types for their next week.

So they should get better players. They got a great amount of depth In prospects. time to cash in on better players.

You talk as if your team has accomplished anything noteworthy in the playoffs in the last few decades. No franchise in the history of the NHL has accomplished so little after being granted so much during said period as well. The one true franchise player you had that could take you someplace in the playoffs couldn’t wait to leave your town.

I remember when the Sharks had beaten the Kings a couple times in a row in the playoffs (yet they didn’t brag). Then the tables turned. Your franchises fans of all the franchises out there should know some humility.
I posted my opinion on why I think this trade (with extensions in place) would be beneficial to the Kings then a bunch of Kings fans started attacking the Oilers because I gave my opinion. After that I just started posting the facts about what happened the last 2 playoffs. Take that how you will.

Don't worry about it. There are simply even more facts, no opinions needed, against your position so that you have no place to stand. Maybe next time you simply don't attack an organization as a whole just because you got lucky a couple of times in the playoffs? Glass houses and such.

but I guess Kings fans can keep hoping that Byfield might score more then 5 goals in a season.

You have posted an opinion, but we both know you weren't exactly being nice or adding anything constructive or of value
If you really think your first post was going to be received well by any fanbase , I have a bridge to sell you

If you really wanna go this route, the Kings have a much better and less embarrassing run during this present century

Back to back series wins is considered luck now? I'm attacking an organization because I agree with a trade that could potentially make the Kings legitimate contenders for years? If any organization knows a thing or two about bust picks it's the Oilers and Byfield is looking like a bust. Kings fans would be ecstatic if Byfield turned into a PLD. Might as well hang on to Turcotte to just in case he lives up to his draft ranking.

I don’t think PLD gets 10 he gets 7.5
I think CH gets 8

Trade Durzi for a 2nd at draft and you play Kaliyev Spence Clarke.

If you think Winnipeg would take Arvidson instead of AI that would be great.

I think Byfield is a bust personally he has the hockey sense of Lebron James. Vilardi is great but he is always gonna be a likely injury away from having a short career.
Yet, somehow you’re willing to take him in a trade for two of your best trade chips. So nice of you to do a favor for LA.

Can't argue with that. I actually like the Kings and thought they would win the Cup if they got past Edmonton this year. I know it's tough to give up on high picks but it's not like this proposal is giving them up for nothing. Helly still has a lot of good years left and PLD would be one of the Kings best forwards.

My first post was me talking about why I thought this trade was a good idea for LA, there was nothing in it that would be considered bashing LA.

Maybe try beating Edmonton first before worrying about the Cup champs. I thought LA was good enough to win the Cup this year but goaltending and coaching was your downfall. Add a Vezina candidate goalie like Helly on the Kings and they're instant contenders. There's going to be many more meetings between the Oilers and Kings in the next 5 years and Edmonton won't win all of them, nothing wrong with trading from an area of strength to improve weaknesses.

Todd McLellan has entered the chat and changed the passive 1-3-1 to a 1-1-3

why is edmonton even trying when they have proved over and over again in the mcdavid era they cant win a cup? much less make the final
You say "much less the" thing that is harder, or later.

Like, "you couldn't ride a bicycle, much less motorbike" or "he hasn't even finished high school yet, much less got his degree"

I do not think you good in math.

PLD and Helerbuyck with new contracts will be about 20 million

Byfield, Vilardi, and Iafollo with new contracts will be about 10 million
I don't think you good in thoughts. As an Oiler fan I really hope you don't get a top 4 goalie in the league and big really good number 2 center.

Helly has been good in the playoffs minus this year where Vegas made every goalie look like an AHL backup. Dubois would be one of the best forwards on the team. If this trade was offered to the Kings with extensions in place then they’d be jumping all over it but I guess Kings fans can keep hoping that Byfield might score more then 5 goals in a season.
Well Vegas is in our division so we have to get past them every year and Helley has shown he can't do that.
I don't know the history but I cant remember Heley leading the Jests to the second round recently.
Ok so we understand you will not accept Byfield back in a trade and we scratched him off the potential piece to Peg list.

LA is a much better team then Winnipeg and almost had the most points in the Conference with a combination of Peterson, Copley, Quick and Korpisalo. If they had a workhorse goalie like Helly they could potentially be the team to beat in the West.

Your can't make picks conditional on a player resigning anymore.

Idk anything about Bjornfoot, what's he do for the deal? Is this salary neutral? I'd look into it myself but that's a lotta pieces, so I ain't gonna.

I understand paying their potential shiny new toys is of some concern in L.A. and that they may prefer to be giving up at least as much as they're taking back in salary. So if we do that AND take on 4 salaries, that's a pretty big chunk of our cap too once $6m-ish in retention is taken into account. And we still haven't bought out or retained on Wheeler yet.

I don't think we have to win on salary on all the deals we make this year, but losing on 3 seems sketchy. Due to the Kings' salary constraints, I think a deal with them has to be smaller than this.

1) cannot put conditions on re-signing
2) It is fair with extensions depending on those extensions. So too much unknown for me to say yes.
