... Pregame Reavo said,... "You gotta play playoff teams hard. Somethimes you gotta push them out of the building." We out hit them 31 to 12.
Reavo and Gallant sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

But seriously, what a wonderful signing for New York. I now understand why Gallant was adamant if he was the new NYR coach, Reaves had to be included in the package. Or ok, I've realized this far earlier, but I wrote it that way to sound more spectacular.

Schneider should be here to stay, he is very much legit. His skating, passing, quick decision making, positioning. It's all NHL level. I REALLY hope they don't demote him when they acquire whatever trade deadline upgrade they're going to acquire. I know Gallant likes Nemeth a lot so we could see whoever they acquire being slid in next to Nemeth which would be a mistake if Schneider keeps this up.

Reminiscent of McDonagh, you're spot on with that. Took his short AHL assignment and worked hard and then came up and looked like he belonged and never look back. Schneider is right there.

Then again, by the time the TDL rolls around they could very well be convinced they don't NEED to acquire anyone to bolster/upgrade the defense since, well, Schneider already DOES that. Hahaha.

A note from game article in Toronto Star:"The Rangers are the only team this year to beat the Maple Leafs twice"

They should fire their fact checker. Pittsburgh has beaten them twice as well. I think the only teams that have played them 3 times this year are the Rangers and Sens. They've played several teams twice, but most of those are splits.

@GAGLine is right, Pens beat Leaves on Oct and Nov

Just like Barron, Jones, Lundkvist, etc would play over McKegg, Hunt, Rooney, Gauthier, Tinordi & Nemeth? Other young players who don’t have the rocky relationship with Drury are getting passed over for scrubs, why do you think it would be different with Kravtsov who Drury publicly shamed as a quitter when he was saying goodbye to his teammates to exercise a mutually agreed upon Europe out clause?

Why? Cant speak for anyone else, but because Kravtsov is a level above most of those other prospects? In a position of greater need than D, for instance. Wasn't he like the last AHL assignment, or close to it? There's no guarantees of course, but I fully expect that he would have been the first call up for forward. We shall NEVER know!

Looks like he might be a scratch.

Should be in the AHL at this point, I think we can officially write him off as a bust.

Not as though Joey Keane was gonna be a regular starter for this team though so no regerts

It was a fine shot in the dark, but yeah, it's time to stop pencilling him in. Can he get better? Sure, but chances don't look good.

What's Keane doing?

Islanders fans won't shut up about their road games but the Rangers have played 60% of their games on the road and the Islander have played just over 53% of their games on the road.

This and the debbies fans wringing the f*** out of advanced stats to show that they are just as good as the Rangers but with poor goaltending. Reality says no, f***ing no.

Who cares if they're just as good as the Rangers outside the goaltending? Are we trading them Shesterkin?

Plus, Rangers goaltenders that aren't Shesterkin are 8-6-2, the Devils are 14-19-5. Oops.

Yup. They have played 17 road games, only 2 more than they have played at home. They love to keep making excuses but their schedule has been quiet and warm butter soft also. They have played 4, count em, 4 road games in 2 months, and have played only 1 decent team this month and got shutout. Oh, and every team in this league has had to deal with covid issues, including the Rangers who were missing 5 guys plus the coach during this past road trip.

Freakin right they did and the coach was very in tune to it as well. He had Reavo on the power play with about 6 minutes left and had him on with Breadman and Strome in the last minute or so. Reavo and Gallant bring intangibles to this team they didn't have last year. Part of Gallant's magic is creating an environment where the players have fun playing hockey but make no mistake he understands that winning is fun and losing is not.

HFRangers choosing a FA 4th liner as the whipping boy? CHECK

Unlike Glass though, AnArmForALeg guy does more than play 6 minutes and throw 2 body checks and has also spent significant time as a scratch and in the minors....

Definitely a playoff team. This team has flaws, but as we saw last night, other "good" teams do too.
I wouldn't hazard a guess as to how well we will do in the playoffs. Only pointing out we will be playing in the post season. And that we still have a hill to climb if we want home ice.

How well we do in the playoffs is a whole different matter. There's no way we should have been swept by the Canes in our last appearance. After soundly handling them during the season that year. So who knows what may happen come May. But if Shesty is healthy, that could help our chances. A hot goalie is key in a short series.

McKegg’s been pretty fine. Way more of the player Carolina got from him than whatever you want to call him under DQ 2 years ago.

Hes a decent fourth liner/13th FWD who plays the style Gallant wants his guys to play. Hes not blocking anybody in the minors. He will be pushed out of the everyday lineup by whoever they add at the deadline Much ado about nothing with him.

I think it is the Reavo factor. It seems whoever they put out there with him, performs well. Whether it's Rooney, Hunt, McKegg, Goodrow, that 4th line still brings energy, and consistently good shifts nightly.

The trade deadline scares the bejesus out of me. We have a great locker room right now, and would hate to have anything mess up that vibe and swagger we have right now.

Can't restate this any more. Kakko and Laf are not MacKinnon, they have never looked as good as MacKinnon at the same age, and MacKinnon's AVS teams when he broke into the league were putrid. Our 2 high pick forwards are disappointing big time, there's no other correct analysis.

*However*

Most of the time they're serviceable NHL players right now. And in a salary cap world, having serviceable players in the lineup on ELCs is actually extremely important. So even if they continue with the status quo and put up a point every now and then, as long as they're not a liability, we're making out given the current makeup of the team. Kreider, Zibanejad, Fox and Panarin can do the heavy lifting. What I do worry about is if and when Kreider cools down a bit. He's been covering the lack of production of Kakko, Laf, Gauthier and Chytil basically. If that stops, we're going to have a tough time scoring goals.

The big question is, does Drury bring in a bonafide top 6 guy to help relieve some of the pressure off our top guys. He wouldn't have to do that if one of the two kids stepped up and started playing in accordance with their draft positions and potential

I agree with a lot of this. But where it will get tough is who comes out of the lineup if a top six forward is brought in. Right now the objectively worst forward on the team is Laf. I'm not really counting McKegg as Hunt will replace him soon...but even McKegg is more useful in his role than Laf.
