Yeah you can't have your GM do that publicly - as someone else said, his actios were one of a mercenary, like AM and MMI feel even better today than yesterday. Shanny made the right call. Now go find the right GM

Lou was brought in as an interim GM to essentially teach a young group how it's done. It was the right thing to do and had Dubas taken anything to heart that Lou taught, he may be GM still.

Teach him what?
Seems like Lou's decisions are making his current team worse.
We are going to find out a few things very soon:We added 7 players at this years deadline and somehow Dubas hands were tied in upgrading the team at the deadline lol
He basically had an agreed upon deal, then postured for more money when he's really done nothing. Can't wait to see the disaster he is when he's another teams GM and doesn't have infinite resources to rely upon.
What a joker! That's an insult hahahahaReport: Dubas wanted more money and control
With the bombshell that Kyle Dubas and the Toronto Maple Leafs parted ways in the sense that his contract was not renewed, there has been more information released behind the reasoning for the split, and it may or may not shock anyone.
According to reports Kyle Dubas was looking for a deal in the neighborhood of $6-7 million a season and full control while the team was only willing to offer him 4 million a season. Dubas and Brendan Shanahan had been speaking back and forth however Shanahan knew after hearing what Dubas had to say during his stand-alone press conference that it was time to move in a different direction.

Then Next year we sweep them to go to the ECF ;-)When the realization hits that the Florida Panthers just caused your storied franchise to go full 'brain shambles' mode and implode from within.

Unreal that this arrogant rookie GM with virtually no playoff success and a coddled, soft team, wanted even more money and controlReport: Dubas wanted more money and control

This is a leader right here.
Opinion: Vegas Golden Knights GM George McPhee gives up job for good of the team
George McPhee steps aside as the Golden Knights GM as they promote Kelly McCrimmon to the position.www.usatoday.com
I think it was Mike Futa who said a few days ago that a lot of the things Dubas did were about finding that unearthed Gem more than just straight up looking for players. It seems he was always trying to find the next Justin Holl or Bunting instead of just trying to get the best fit for the team. I would call a lot of that Ego for sure.I wonder if it would have been taking away power from the president, and locking out Shanahan, basically making him redundant. I could see that paving the way for a Dubas presidency once the Shanahan contract runs out in a couple of years. More of a boardroom play than any functional autonomy on the hockey side. I could see that angering the higher ups.
From a team construction POV, not like there was adult supervision that stopped Dubas from trading for Matt Murray, for example. Or making massive roster upgrades during the trade deadline or building a massive department with community initiatives, etc.
The idea that a number of Leaf trades were blocked by management that could have improved the Leafs playoff chances feels like a complete fabrication. Dubas wouldn't touch the Big 4. He's made small, medium and large deals. He's spent every dollar he can and more. He's traded out a number of high picks for a variety of purposes from rentals to contract disposal. The Murray deal was a pure ego play. I don't believe his hands were tied at all. And if they were, they weren't tied tight enough.
If any of the players feel a greater sense of loyalty to Dubas than to the iconic jersey they are privileged to wear, they should be moved out as soon as possible. No exceptions. That would be a question for Auston Matthews, no doubt. No one can anticipate what an own recruitment would look like.
I guess my question from a non Dubas guy is why would all organizational loyalties go up to Dubas and then there's no further personal relationships?
Look at rounds they exited in and the records. That's better than Dubas lol
Yeah that seems really dumb. Did Shanahan force Dubas to acquire Murray too? Maybe forced him to trade Kadri for Barrie and Kerfoot? I wonder where Mirtle heard this? I think anyone with a brain see through that and understand who the leak is. Without any concrete information as to what did/didn't happen and what was blocked/not blocked, this is all garbage tabloid stuff..
This isn't to say Shanahan didn't have his say on team moves and acquisitions... the guy is the President and the boss, of course. There are always 2 sides of the coin in these things.
Do we know how long his contract is with VegasGet him. McPhee is a great choice.
So... just learned this on twitter. WTF i mean WTF in the actual WTF
