I think you are right, but if someone offered me 5 sheets a year for 5 years to politely call Rossi a fat idiot and say "we really like our team" whenever a real journalist asked me a question I would do it all day every day.Dubas got fired in Toronto because he wanted more power. I dont see him accepting a ceremonial position two weeks later. Dubas got what he wanted here imo
He's also very limited because someone blew a lot of cash on breakfast.Sources say Hextall is still on the fence about what he’ll eat for lunch today. Hard decision and it takes time.
But it also raises the question of who would be a GM in that situation no?This. New GM will have to get the green light from Dubas for most of the decisions. Less work, more power than he had in Toronto.
It’s good to love what you do for a living.I think you are right, but if someone offered me 5 sheets a year for 5 years to politely call Rossi a fat idiot and say "we really like our team" whenever a real journalist asked me a question I would do it all day every day.
I'm gonna be so sad if we don'tWill we still get to see him screaming from a suite?
Sure, but on the other hand, for all those assistant GMs its going to be an upgrade title / reputation + money wise. And they might have the power to decide by themselves on some minor trades. So they move up in the rankings, while kinda doing the same thing like before. But it also raises the question of who would be a GM in that situation no?
The answer is all up here. *points to head*He's also very limited because someone blew a lot of cash on breakfast.

Same thing was said about the last guy.Given Dubas' age I think he's here both to try and squeeze a cup win out of our narrowing window and then to also steer us through the rebuild.
The current squad isn't really his team but he'll try to tweak it into a contender, and then in the following years build it in his image.
yeah thats exactly what i meant. saying he has the same title as burke therefore he will behave like burke just doesnt seem like the sort of thing dubas would want? he isnt looking to shake hands and go on podcasts i dont think.Even though they might have the same job title I think they'll do their job in a completely different manner. I look at him as kind of a puppet master from behind the scenes, the GM will take the lead on certain things but he'll have his hand print on almost every decision.
One thing I'm very pleased about, bringing in Dubas is a big money, big balls move. Dubas is going to have the resources, authority and cajones to buy out or fire anyone he wants.
Only if they get rid of Sullivan…100% agree! I think those two would really do wonders for this franchise. They're both forward thinkers and would really change the trajectory of this team, the culture and the mindset in every good way possible. Well, in my opinion anyhow.
Well I would suspect they'd feel him out first but they would have the ability to get a person in place if they deem that relationship or what they're seeing on the ice as anything less than excellent.Only if they get rid of Sullivan…
Will he though??One thing I'm very pleased about, bringing in Dubas is a big money, big balls move. Dubas is going to have the resources, authority and cajones to buy out or fire anyone he wants.
