Same thing was said about the last guy.
Not his roster but he will eventually make his team.
Damage gets larger each new guy comes in. Hopefully it stops here.
We're better off today than when Hextall took over IMO. He didn't trade any 1sts or 1st-round-caliber prospects. He re-signed the core to a combined lower cap hit than they had previously. His bad signing of McGinn was quickly corrected. Our prospect pool still sucks but we at least have some assets, now. Some teams have no 1sts for the next several drafts and little to show for it.

I think Sid, Geno, and Letang should be the only true untouchables on the roster. I don't see much reason to trade Rakell or Guentzel either unless it's for a significant upgrade. I like POJ a lot, but I'd think about moving him in the right deal. Everyone else I can take or leave, and for many guys on this roster, my preference is "leave."

I don't see any reason for any of the impending UFAs to be brought back. They need a bunch of new guys who are young, skilled, and hungry, and a whole new pair of goaltenders IMO. I am hoping Dubas sees it the same way.

do we think dubas is announcing sully to the nyr for k'andre miller and a 1st at this presser or he will just wait to have his gm do it

It would be hilarious if Dubas was like "Wow FSG you really love this guy huh? Welp how bout this... he's the GM now and reports directly to me. Ya know... til he learns the ropes. For a while."

That would be a fun twist. Really flip things on their head.

Awesome.

Really want to see what he can do as head honcho.

I want to see the future long term goals more so from this higher.

Yes we have the short term and it will be up to him to secure it. However I do believe you can build assets or trade them equally. Not like The last group (s).

Well I would suspect they'd feel him out first but they would have the ability to get a person in place if they deem that relationship or what they're seeing on the ice as anything less than excellent.
One needs only to look at the tape from last season to see failure written all over him lol

I dunno I haven't really overthought Dubas throughout this whole thing. I've been skeptical as a gut feeling but.....If he makes a splash with his first move by acquiring a top-tier goalie at the draft then I'm fully onboard.

And no Dubas, not Matt Murray.

and Lol Sully's not goin anywhere

congrats guys. You'll be happy with Dubas. Everything he does tends to gets explained well and makes sense. Every off-season in Toronto felt different, as he improved different areas and aspects.

No GM/President is perfect, but Dubas does more good than bad. Built a heck of a team especially this season in Toronto. Only one team wins the cup.

With the cursed leaf history on our side...we will win a few cups with Dubas immediately.
