Every organization has prospects, we don’t operate in a vaccum. Like I said, after this year, there isn’t much relative to other teams. We used to play this game all the time, over inflating our prospect pool, then when we actually had one it looked embarrassing.

We will still be a middle of the pack organization for prospects, you are entitled to your opinion though, even if it is wrong.

I said next year, wait until after this group graduates. Read my first post before you knee jerk respond.

If Robertson can’t crack this lineup with the stiffs we signed, we’ll….He will, kids a keeper.

Terrible day for Dubas

- Point signing making the Marner contract look even more terrible

- Signing a player with 26 career games to take on top 6 minutes in a very strong division

- Not addressing this teams inability to play a playoff style game by adding players who go hard to the net, cycle, forecheck hard (McGinn, Foegele, Saad, etc)

- Setting this team up with the worst LW depth in the league

I do like the Mrázek signing but he has a history of being injury prone

Changed his tune a tad

Dubas: Right now, I don’t sense that anything is imminent. Whether it is using our remaining cap space to sign a free agent in the coming days or whether it is through trade, we are going to continue to look at any avenues we can to improve the roster. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility for us.

Are we sure thats not what it looks like now?

What are Sandin, Robertson, Amirov really?

Sandin (Possible top four)
Robertson (Possible top nine)
Amirov - (Possible top nine)
Liljegren (A failed pick who Dubas hasn't sent out for some reason - Probably because he made the selection)

Surrounded by years of drafting 5'9-5'10 D and forwards?
Sandin should end up a top four.

I think Robertson will be at least a second line winger.

Amirov -- too soon to tell.

Liljegren was a Lou/Hunter pick.

I totally get not doing the sign and trade. It’s a humiliation ritual. There you are signing a contract you weren’t willing to pay then making a trade call for pittance.

On paper, this is defintiely not a contender team going into next season. If they don't make the playoff or can't advance to the second round next year, plus Dubas still refuse to break the core after. This team is pretty much done and no hope. We will just be watching Mattews and Marner to walk for nothing. This team likes to do this anyway.

It’s a good thing Washington didn’t use this train of thought with their uber talented core.

The window is open as long as the core is in/near their primes.
