Dubas being a dick, you just made that up to prop up your made up point of view. Nobody has called Dubas a dick and here you are saying it like its a fact that he was a dick in a deal that didnt go through, then pretending he did it "for no real reason other than to big dog a more experienced and respected GM" is again making shit up and pretending its a fact.
What other reason does he have? Him not doing the trade is being a dick. Nothing I said there is incorrect

If you have another explanation I'd love to hear it. I just don't see how the events can be seen any other way

If you can't follow what I've clearly outlined several times in this thread, that's on you. I'm done here
You should have been done a long time ago, since you were just making things up and crying about dubas being a big meany to respected GM's!

I wonder if they all think hes the big dog now that he big dogged a respected, experienced GM just because he could!

So Dubas does not accept an offer and he is “a dick” because he didn’t help facilitate a better deal for a player and the signing team?

The fact of the matter is Hyman, the Oilers and Leafs all lost in this scenario.

Hyman didn’t get more dollars. Oilers didn’t save cap space. The Leafs didn’t gain a 7th round pick.

None of the parties involved are obligated to accept any offer or have some moral responsibility to one another.

This is just business.

Leafs don't have valuable assets or guys on good contracts. Pretty safe to say that core is cooked. Flat cap ruined their window.

Dubas wanted a pick for Hyman. Holland wanted Hyman signed to an 8th year. It was a forgone conclusion Hyman was going to Edmonton regardless. In a business built on relationships, Dubas took his ball and went home instead of taking a free draft pick. For what? To save his own fragile ego?

Dubas is a man child trying to play hardball in a world full of gentlemen's agreements. I'm shocked he's lasted this long
Free draft picks are not allowed under the CBA. There would have at least been future considerations attached. When did the Oilers offer this pick? After they signed Hyman?

It would've been a sign and trade I believe. Hyman signed for 8 years in exchange for a pick
