So, seems to be getting kind of close for you guys to resolve the issue. I know all the Tampa fans have said he is never being moved, but if he won't take a bit of a discount like others already have, would this be something you'd consider?

:canes Kucherov

:bolts Faulk

Canes would get a legitimate first line scoring talent and the bolts would get a first pairing D with a contract cap hit (~$4.75M AAV) that fits their current budget.

Leaves the Canes with Brett Pesce, Ryan Murphy (injured), and Roland McKeown on the right side.

Now if the Canes could also find a way to add Trouba, then you are in business.

No, we'd get a second pairing D who we can't even protect without losing a young high-potential player on his ELC. No way in hell that gets you a 30 goal scoring, postseason beast of a forward.

I dont know but I can virtually guarantee that if the Lightning did this, Drouin would never play another game in a Tampa uniform.

It depends on how close a deal is to move someone. I doubt it's Drouin when they can waive some other people to get the same effect just w/o risking the loss of someone.

Pretty much my thinking as well. If Yzerman were to deal Kucherov. And that's not happening it would definitely take far more then Nylander to get him out of Tampa that's for sure.

Way more than just Nylander, Nylander is ridiculously overhyped. Matthews is legit, but Nylander is beyond overhyped. He's a floater and disappears in games, I'd take Kucherov over him 10 times out of 10.

Heard some Leaf fans compare Nylander to Larkin, I don't think so Larkin is way better then Nylander and that last thing that Larkin isn't is a floater like Nylander.

Not even close. Larkin is way more aggressive and attacks the play. Nylander is passive and floats around to the outside. Larkin is also a better skater, he's as close to McDavids tier of skater as you'll find. Phenomenal edge work.

Again, I'd assume they would waive condra today if a signing is close?

No reason to bash Nylander he'll be a good player he's more cerebral kind of like Backstrom. Does he need to work on always keep his feet moving and intensity? sure he does but he's not a finished product yet. He will be a good offensive player that's all we ask of him.
