Injury Report: Kreider fully cleared to play

Jesus, he was in the hospital all these days? I thought they just sent him on that night with blood thinners.
Well the game he left was 12/27, right? And the tweet posted is from 12/29. So even if you read the tweet as he was just released from the hospital, that's basically just a 48-hour stay, which wouldn't be unusual if they were holding a guy for observation. He may have even been released 12/28 or the same night he was admitted, and the info Cyrgalis was sharing was the first official word he was out.

Ah my fault, I thought that tweet was from today.

if we can get him back in march that's all we need. this kid is built out of granite I know he'll work as hard as possible to get back quickly.

Yeah, this seems like a thing that's part of the process in terms of alleviating everything. Sucks but it is what it is. Hopefully everything winds up well like Stamkos' procedure did. At this point, I'm just not expecting him back this season or at the least anytime soon. If he comes back, great, but I think you have to operate under the notion that he won't be back.

Kreider is more complicated because he is a physical player. He can’t get hit or hit anyone. Brooks wrote that right after the injury two weeks ago.

Another break is that he doesn't need to throw a baseball 95 miles per hour like Matt Harvey; an activity where fine muscle control in your back and shoulder is essential. That is the basis for Harvey's problem and loss of command, control, and velocity. Harvey had to go back on the DL when it was discovered that a muscle at the back of his shoulder had atrophied. Even after he strengthened it, he still had poor control and command. Resecting a rib seems to change your entire muscular structure. Luckily, for a hockey player, it doesn't seem to be as big as an issue as for a pitcher.

This is the same thing that Stamkos went through.

I don't think Kreider will be back until next season.

Another reason to sell at the trade deadline. Hopefully Kreider will be back healthy next year.
What are the other reasons?
Please don’t say “because AV is dumb” or “because the Rangers suck”. Even if true, those are not the Rangers front office operating assumptions.

I guess we just have to wait and see. Important thing is the surgery is a success. Could be 6 weeks like the case with Andrei Vasilievskiy or longer like Stamkos (albeit I believe Stamkos' was in April). I guess a big factor will be if he has to be on blood thinners for a while post op then makes things trickier.

Stamkos' was in April so it is 3 months ahead of that time but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

How do I move ahead in the action on this one?
