Injury Report: Kreider fully cleared to play

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
No doctor but maybe being a pro athlete exposes the underlying conditions moreso than a non-athlete based on all the blood pumping and nutrients demand pumping through them vs a more sedentary person.

Cold weather and dehydration can also be a cause. Doesn’t always have to be nefarious reasons.

Other players are going to have to step up or the Rangers season could be in the shitter. We're already looking at a second half full of road games. Rangers really need all hands on deck--Kreider is a big loss.

Glad I saw the post this morning before it got deleted. Don't see what the big deal is to post rumors, it's one of the only reasons I come to this forum, although I saw the same rumor on reddit. Hoping for the best for CK.
So, the rumors thing. This site has faced legal action before from parties that felt that they had been libeled by rumors and speculation posted on the boards. Now, that involved "off-ice" stuff, but you can imagine that the site owners were not pleased and encouraged a crackdown on anything that didn't come with a cited source.

Injuries are different, but the problem is someone comes here claiming they know what's going on, it spreads like wildfire, and is then proven untrue. And then half of people don't see the real diagnosis and everything is ridiculous with people arguing about or repeatedly posting incorrect information.

So you combine the two, and there's just a "no unsourced rumors" thing that applies basically across the board. It protects the site from a legal standpoint and also protects the individual boards from being subject to multiple pages of inaccurate garbage. And with regards to injuries, it's not even a big deal to have to wait until maybe the next morning for official confirmation of something.

It's good it was caught early. He'll be fine. Hockey is a physical game and injures happen. There is no way any team goes through an 82-game season with 100% manpower. You almost have to expect to lose someone for a period, just hope it's the right time and the depth can step it up. Boychuk, Corey Crawford, Barrie, Atkinson, and Wennberg have all recently been placed on IR. Ryan Kessler just got back and half the Ducks forwards are still out. Our old buddies Dubi/Cally are out long term. Remember in 2010-11 when half the forwards were out and Brodie Dupont, Newbury, Grachev, and Kolarik were all playing important minutes?

The silver lining is he'll catch it during the bye week in Jan and All Star Break so less games missed, Fast is back in a week or two, and we'll see if Lettieri can help out with the cycle and eventually play 12-13 minutes a night.

Probably overly harsh but that reads like something out of the Mets camp.

Mets got random injuries covered.

Dillon Gee blood clot in shoulder:

Dillon Gee still has a difficult time explaining what happened to the nerves tethered around the humerus in his throwing shoulder and why, all of a sudden, the occasional numbness in his fingers expanded.
It eventually spread to his entire throwing arm following a strong performance against the Cubs on July 7. A few days later he was hospitalized for testing when doctors discovered the clots.
“I knew something was definitely a lot different than it normally was, and when I went to the hospital, when I got diagnosed with a pretty big clot in my right shoulder, it’s pretty scary,” Gee said before tonight’s game against the Dodgers. “I’m not a doctor so immediately I think I’m going to die.”

Matt Harvey TOS:

Harvey has reportedly been experiencing numbness in his hand while pitching and, via Newsday’s Marc Carig (on Twitter), told manager Terry Collins following his most recent start (in Collins’ words): “My shoulder’s dead. My arm’s dead. There’s no energy there. I couldn’t feel the ball.”

So this is not good, obviously. It’ll be interesting to see how the team responds. A couple more injuries and it could bury their chances quickly.

And especially EPO and other doping causes a lot of the blood clots athletes have, but it’s of course no rule without exceptions. Would be a little surprised if NHLers where using EPO, but who knows...
