Injury Report: Kreider fully cleared to play

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
What are the other reasons?
Please don’t say “because AV is dumb” or “because the Rangers suck”. Even if true, those are not the Rangers front office operating assumptions.
Terrible defensive play, inconsistent powerplay, no elite forwards, a coach with no ability to adjust in game or assess who is actually playing well. That's just off the top of my head.

the East has never been more vulnerable every team has flaws and you guys still want to sell when hank is having his best stretch in 2 years? no way.
Probably because Hank won't be able to sustain this level (and even tho he is playing in GOD mode we are still a bubble team) with the craptastic play in front of him... especially in the playoffs where other teams will be stepping their games up dramatically.

Everything about this season screams "Sell" including this latest news on Kreids... but the "anything can happen" folks still want another kick at the can.

Don't worry, You're going to get your way, but that doesn't mean others can't disagree with it and have to like it. The NYR will get their two extra home games in all probability.

These sorts of arguments, designed at talking yourself out of doing the right thing in pursuit of a half-assed run, can be used in many ways. Its quite easy to talk yourself into that position, especially in Gary's post-lockout world of the loser's point and more parity.

Its also a surefire way of trapping the franchise in the purgatory of middling competitors without the # of assets they should have.

This is a team that is giving up 40 shots per game, is being consistently bailed out by their goaltender, and does not have a single gamebreaking positional player. We're going to hang on to Nash and Grabner for a couple months for a run with those realities? Its sheer lunacy.

Yes, he will get his way, because thats just how the Rangers do things, despite it being clear they'll be left with no cup and less assets than they could've had this summer.

sell sell sell.

absolutely nash gone. grabs gone. were not winning the whole shabang with this group anyway and who's to say how far we could go without those 2 guys. with out CK and those 2 it doesnt seem possible to go very far but a playoff round makes this organization $$.

you sell off those 2 for assets/picks and move forward to fight another day, younger and better.

the ability or restock with picks- especially picks in the top 100 players or so, is paramount to future success.

i would absolutely resign grabner though. nash, not so much.

So our coach literally not playing a system isn't a valid reason?

Of course, the simple solution is firing the moron before handing him yet another overhauled roster to kill, but I digress.

Agreed, I hate this forums obsession with futures & constantly rebuilding
Even if we traded away McDonagh, Zucc, etc for futures it’s no garuntee that in 5 years time we’ve even put together a team as good as what we currently have. Look at Edmonton, Arizona, and Buffalo.
This looks to be the first year both the Pens & Hawks are our of it and the cups never been as up for grabs as right now
We are a young team, most of our core is in their mid 20’s and we have a generational goaltender who isn’t getting any younger, but is still playing at an elite level. Maybe I’m too optimistic but I think we can still be a contender

You really believe that? The coach *has no system*??? Hahhahaaaaa

If you want to be generous and call "stretch pass until you get an odd man rush for 60 minutes" a system, then sure, AV is a man with a plan.
If they do it every night, it is a system.

It's a pretty bad system, and probably the worst of it's kind, but it's a system.

I wonder why AV is so reluctant to think about adjusting the system. It's not like the Rangers have been overwhelmingly good in the regular season. I know he doesn't give a crap about Corsi, but how can he be OK with the way the team plays?

Someone said it recently that he'd rather expose the defense because he knows he has Hank in net instead of exposing an offense that doesn't have the skill to play anything other than a counter-attacking style of hockey.

We're getting clowned on a more regular basis these days. The current personnel can do more than this system.

Other than Hank standing on his head, what about our play this season makes you think that?

Can you guarantee that if we don't sell we'll be as good or better 5 years from now? Why should people who suggest that we sell have to give you a guarantee that it will work?

Look at Edmonton, Arizona, and Buffalo.

I've looked at them. I see 3 teams that have been poorly managed. High draft picks won't save those teams from their own poor decisions. There are plenty of teams that have drafted high and then gone on to have success. If you are looking for some sort of guarantee, you should probably stop watching sports altogether.

If you want a good example of what the Rangers should be doing, look at what Boston did a few years ago and where they are now. No, there's no guarantee that we'll be successful, but that's the model to follow.

If we should sell than so should Columbus Long Island Pittsburgh Washington And NJ should ship out their older guys too and keep building because we’re all right on top of each other in the standings.

Should we all just give Tampa the cup mid season? They’re the only ones that shouldn’t be sellers?

Every indication is they want to bring Nash back.

That leaves Desharnais Holden and Grabner left to deal. Ufa rentals unless superstars don’t bring back first rounders anymore very rare. So let that dream die.

Holden isn’t going to get you squat and neither is Desharnais so for a few 2nd or 3rd rounders I rather take another shot at the Cup while we still can.

Stamkos had the same issues and was back in under 2 months and people are saying shut down kreider for the whole season when we have a legitimate shot ot make the playoffs. LOL WUT?

good thing those teams that got a low seed and went to the cup finals, such as LA, sold at the deadline, totally.
