Just goes to show, when you’ve got your kicks at the can, you’d better make the most of them.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed in sports.

Within the course or two seasons, this team went from world beaters, to very good over achievers, to being on the verge of the bottom completely falling out.

I thought they were mediocre. Turns out they might be bad.

Like really bad.

I think we simply don't know yet. One bad year can be written off - roster just didn't gel right, coach found himself lost and then just gave up, interim is a career assistant, injuries to key players, some bad luck, and so on. And now they're just not trying, at all.

Next season is their D-Day. They'll either pick themselves up with a new coach and at the very least be serious contenders for a playoff spot, or the mediocrity will set in and they'll fall into total irrelevance with all the attendant consequences. In terms of the on-ice stuff, the next month is just passing time now.

Got his contact and has been utterly embarrassing this year.

He should of been ready and living up to his contract. And he hasn't. I don't know if he should be traded but ...he's been awful.
