That's because we didn't have any prospects when Sather was running things!
If anything, Sather had a reputation for actually getting European players to come over to the US

The real problem is Kravtsov keeps reading EdJo's posts and is confused why he isn't on the 1st line and getting Selke votes. Are you for real dude? you are trolling us hard lol
Maybe he should work on his attitude, because he'd be playing an NHL game tonight if he excelled in that regard.
Over Gauthier, Hunt, Tinordi, Hajek, all they had to do was put him as the extra forward.

One word: grit.Please. Shit like this pretty much never happened when Sather was running things.
Yeah this is definitely Sather’s fault….I dont think this team will compete for a cup until old man Sather is gone...he has no idea how to deal with todays players.
I'm like 90% sure he would have asked for a trade if he made the team as an extra forward.
He wanted a top six spot, he was unhappy he wasn't given one last year when he came over, it wasn't just about making the team it was about being given a spot he thought he deserved and would succeed in.
Giving him a pity 4th line or 13F spot doesn't resolve the issues the Rangers have had with him
He’s an extremely smart defensive player though. Makes sense because his vision is amazing too. So his hockey IQ is elite I would say. Offensively and defensively. Are you for real dude? you are trolling us hard lol

Yea true. I just worry that he’s too talented for his own good. I can see him becoming one of the highest scorers in the NHL. With his vision, overall hockey sense, shot, skating, and insane skill, he should be. And like you said, I do see a real improvement in his shot, which wasn’t that great when he got drafted. So that’s evidence that he works on his game. Ughhhhhhh none of this makes any sense.C’mon, you think his family just pulled some strings to get him drafted top 10 in the NHL draft? Nobody gets anywhere near that level without putting an insane amount of work in
I’m mainly talking about sacrificing skill for grit and giving out dumb, dumb contracts. And being part of the problem that we could never develop an elite forward. If anything, Sather had a reputation for actually getting European players to come over to the US
Very well said. I agree with all of this.Alot of this has to do with assumptions you're making, which is fair because thats pretty much all we can do without knowing details. But their are assumptions to be made that he wasn't given a fair chance despite you wanting the kid to walk up-hill in the snow to practice both ways because "that's the way it has to be".
Since leaving the first time he has done everything that was asked of him, he was all but promised a spot this year and then got shafted. If he feels betrayed by the FO, I can understand why. It's not apples to apples, you can't compare his situation to all rookies trying to make camp. For all you know his teammates think so to. You can't let assumptions drive a narrative.
And as far as sending the message that "he's special and your not", you mean like they did with Kakko to Kravtsov in his first year? How is that fair? It's not, but it happens every year across the league like it or not.
I feel like all these points are being repeated from both sides of the argument, so I don't really wanna keep talking circles. However that's usually a sign that things could of been handled better by both sides, and fwiw one side is an emotional kid and the other is a pro sports gm who is supposed to be tasked with knowing better.
It was 100% he wouldn't take the assignment well...and Drury should have known that
Let alone 2 top 5 lotto picks, a Norris sinning D, and a top 5 wing in the game. That's because we didn't have any prospects when Sather was running things!
Remember when Jonathan Drouin was doing something similar back in 2016? Tampa didn't trade him for peanuts. They reconciled, let him play for a year where he put up 53 points in 73 games and then traded him for Mikhail Sergachev, a top-4 defenseman. A defenseman who was an integral part of their 2 Cup wins, by the way.
I know people don't want to hear this, and this doesn't change the fact that Kravtsov has himself to blame for the situation he's in, but it's in Rangers best interest if they reconcile, up his value and then trade him for something useful next year instead of letting him sit out in Russia, and settling for a 2nd rounder.
That said: f*** Kravtsov for not reporting.
On January 3, 2016, Drouin's agent, Allan Walsh, issued a statement on his behalf, revealing that Drouin had made a trade request in November 2015, but had kept the matter private. Walsh referred to it as an "untenable situation" and that it was in everyone's best interest that Drouin be allowed to move on and play hockey.
On March 8, 2016, Drouin reported to the Crunch for the first time since he was suspended by the Lightning on January 20. Drouin told the media he believed the relationship between him and the team was fine, and that they would fix the situation over the summer. Drouin also said he planned on putting in the work to try to gain a call-up.
How quickly some forget about Pavel Buchnevich.Rangers have been cursed by Russian draft picks since Cherepanov passed, RIP.
