We need this hanging over our season opener like a hole in the head. Do we really need this bad blood festering to start the season. I can't believe this is happening.

I think we all had high hopes for Kravy especially after that one timer last game. To think this is all due to not losing Hajek to waivers makes it unbearable.

We went from being strong on Right Wing to now having a weakness there. From going into the season on a high note, which is now a sour note. And for what? A silly business decision?

This is gonna fester. No team will want him. Rangers won't give him away for nothing. He will be in limbo here for a while, unless he decides to go back to Russia.

I really don't see this ending nicely. It will leave a sour taste in everyone's mouth including the players.
I don’t think it’s quite this big a deal. And a lot of these players payed dues in the AHL. If anything, Kravstov refusing won’t sit well with them

Its incredibly poorly handled.

Then you have all the homers lining up to excuse the team like a 21 year old kid from a remote region of Russia should be crucified for immature behavior. Vladivostok is like 3 hours from North Korea, lol.

Yeah, it's not a billion dollar corporation's job to manage it's talent more wisely.

Well that's my point. Do we really need his teammates thinking about this?

I mean really,... we are so deep on defense with Zac Jones, Braden Schneider and Matthew Robertson that we needed to hang onto Hajek as an 8th D-man,.. over a winger who would have been in the lineup? It's insane.

Gallant lied about naming a captain. He said you can bet on it. He is also lying about Kravy being out played for a spot. This new coach is not being truthful to us or his players. This is not good.

There is fault on both sides, no doubt. When the Rangers became an organization that handles all of their business in public is unknown to me. But it’s certainly a concern to see the side show circus stuff continue into a new year and a new front office.

If he's so immature that he needs a participation trophy to feel good about himself then he's in the wrong profession. That said he has every right to make this call but we as fans have every right to criticize him (and the FO) for it.

And Vladivostok is not a remote region of russia.

According to the sources it sounds more like the Rangers have given him permission to seek a trade rather than he has requested one. It’s strange that last time he exercised his European out clause he deleted his Rangers IG pics, this time that he supposedly requested a trade he didn’t delete any? And he’s been active on IG. I don’t know if the situation is as heated as we’re thinking. Those beat writers also aren’t mentioning the fact that he doesn’t need to report to the AHL, he has an out clause. Is it even verified he’s suspended? Or did they assume that because he said he didn’t want to go to the AHL? Why would he be suspended when he’s not violating his contract?

Neither party looks great right now. But I really don't think you can blame the organization more than the player.

Dozens of players get sent down to the AHL and don't do this. Kravstov is wrong to think he's an exception. Full stop. Rangers should have been better at reading the situation and mitigating it in advance. But at the end of the day, I doubt they would have kept him around if they thought he'd pull this stunt again.

Drury seems like a scorched earth and never forget kind of guy. Doesn't care about trade value as much as sending a message and getting the last word. He was the GM in Hartford when Kravtsov bolted the first time, right?

As opposed to letting a 21 year old kid get the last word? How is that not going to create a horrible precedent going forward? Drury had every right to be ticked off

No one in the locker room gives half a f*** about this. The coach even less than half a f***. Maybe a quarter f***.

This only hangs over the heads of this message board and other online communities.

It's melodrama here, and only here. A little perspective please.

One of the top prospects of the hockey club and a former top 10 pick just requested a trade. I would expect that to spark some discussion amongst the fans. In particular on a board specifically focused on prospects.

I'm not really interested in making those judgments about 21 year old kids. Kravtsov deserves criticism for his handling of this without making sweeping final judgments on who he is as a person.

40-60 year old millionaires and billionaires on the other hand should know better.

And Vladivostok is not a remote region of russia.

It's not? I mean, I understand it's a city of half a million people, but it's way the F out there. It has to be isolated in some respects.

I agree, that's what I wrote.

This whole thing being overblown would be the best possible news. My question is, why would the Rangers grant him that permission if he did not ask for it? Could it be that his agent was leaning hard on Drury, so Drury basically told him, Listen you can either go with your assignment or you can look for a trade? IE, you're not staying with the big club, this is non-negotiable? I am sure the Rangers would still welcome him back with open arms if he decides in the coming days to be compliant and work with the team. Still hoping for that.

Seattle is pretty far away from New York, doesn't mean it's isolated.

A little context is required, is all.

Are the Rangers in the right to demote a player to the AHL at their prerogative? Yes. Should Kravtsov have accepted the demotion? Yes. Is Kravtsov in the wrong for acting out after being demoted? Yes.

But one of these parties is a 21 year old kid. Athletes do stupid things and misbehave all the time because they are idiots, mostly. These are people who play games for a living, not Rhodes Scholars.

The organization should know how to handle one of it's players doing something wrong, in a better fashion. For that they have blame, and on top of that, they really should have known how to solve this issue before he got to his misbehaving, because they had gone down this road before. They have to know better because they have more responsibility for the entire franchise and its fans to know it all and solve these problems.

I'm agreeing with ya. Drury is weeding out the bad apples, as he makes the team in his image.

I think we are overstating the amount of problems one 21 year old misbehaving is going to cause.

So because Kravtsov pouts and is allowed to get away without being suspended, that means everyone is going to start acting that way?

I don't think so.

You can also always drop the hammer later if it becomes a recurring problem.

My understanding of that part of Russia is that it is very rural unlike, say, Washington state, but perhaps I'm wrong.
That's how most of Russia is, apart from maybe Moscow and St. Petersburg regions.

We have seen all sorts of proven players sent down including former 50 goal scorers. Just go down and play so well they have to call you up. If you believe you are a top 6 NHL player you should be awesome in the AHL.

You should get some perspective. How could this not effect his teammates he has been with for weeks. Are they not human? Do they not have hearts?

They are people too with feelings. And just like here, they will have opinions both ways on how this was handled. They need this like a hole in the head.

You don't think the players are gonna question the Coach's critique on them, after lying through his teeth, twice before the season has even started?
