goth isn’t a skill player. goth is a kreider type of player, big and fast and kinda dumb at times. krav is a long, lanky, pure skill euro. that’s why I feel strongly that kreider should be on the 3rd line with chytil and blais and krav in the top 6.

Which is why he should have went to Hartford and forced his way back into that spot. He didn't and that's on him.

The Rangers are fault too. This organization always seems to have an issue with rushing their players . Most of the Russian players who have become stars in the NHL weren't rushed to the NHL. Ovechkin and Malkin were special players. Svechnikov isn't on the same level as those two players but he is an elite level player. Tarasenko spent 2 1/2 years in the KHL before joining the Blues. Kuznetsov spent 3 1/2 years in the KHL before joining the Capitals. Kaprizov was a 5th round pick in 2015. He didn't join the Wild until the 2021 56 game season. Panarin wasn't even drafted. He was 24/25 when he joined the Hawks. Buchnevich spent 3 years in the KHL before joining the Rangers. Podkolzin joined the Canucks this season. Everyone knew he had two seasons remaining on his KHL contract at the 2019 draft. You were waiting 2 years for him. None of this yo-yo shit.

Some other players come over at 16 or 17 to play in the CHL. Radulov. Kucharov. Sergachev. Provorov. He came to the North America very young.

The Stars brought Nichushkin over at 18. His first 3 years weren't very good. His career never got off the ground. The Stars took Gurianov in the 1st round in 2015. They brought him over at 19. He has 5 pro seasons under his belt. He spent the first 2 plus seasons in the AHL. He had 20 goals in 19-20 before Covid ended that season. He had 9 goals and 17 points in 27 playoff games in the bubble. 12 goals and 30 points in 55 games last season. Gurianov didn't bolt to the KHL when the Stars assigned him to the AHL 3X. He had a European assignment clause in his contract. He stayed here. Our boy left barely 3 weeks into the season in 19-20 and got his ass suspended for refusing to accept the AHL assignment this week.

As soon as the Rangers selected Kravstov, we heard about him exercising a buyout of his KHL contract. What was the rush? The decision was made for him to play in the KHL in 18-19. His 19-20 season was a disaster. He wasn't ready for the NHL and he pouted his way back to the KHL. IF he was not comfortable with the AHL, just leave him in the KHL. If the Rangers were not comfortable with Kravstov spending 2-3 years in the KHL after being drafted, the Rangers should have selected a North American player at #9. None of this back and forth stuff. Did the Rangers have this discussion with him or maybe he just bullshitted them? Kravtsov thinks he is ready for top 6 NHL minutes after one good season in the KHL. The other players had a bigger body of work.

Andersson wasn't ready for the NHL. The Rangers told everyone he is ready. The expectations were too high.

Time and time again we see prospects here requesting a trade. Maybe the Rangers just really suck at scouting and having patience.

That's hyperbole and you know it. In what world does 4 points in 20 NHL games and middling stats in the minors automatically get you a top 6 spot on "most" teams?
the fact he’s an extraordinarily talented player with huge upside. the only reason he isn’t in our top 6, beyond organizational incompetence, is we have a lot of talent. there’s room for him, but the team would rather justify Kreider’s shitty contract rather than play him where he’s a better fit.

Kreider has 20 goals in 6 out of his last 7 seasons. Even during seasons he's struggled a little you can argue that he wasn't out of place in the top 6. He's also a vet who isn't going to go all out in preaseson games, so he isn't losing any ice time based on his play in exhibition games.

There are definitely teams in which Kravtsov would probably get a top-6 role right now. Not sure if I agree with "on most teams".

But he was not getting that role automatically here, and he should've been prepared to face that. Yes, his unfortunate injury didn't help his camp but It's not like he played such an awesome camp that it would've warranted putting him to the top-6 over Kreider (let alone Panarin, Kakko or Laf). It's clear that Gallant didn't want him in his bottom-6, and I don't blame him. Kravtsov is a skill player, not a grinder.

Sending him down to play top minutes in the AHL, and have the ability to impress and force his way to the top-6 either replacing Kreider (or Laf or Kakko) by his play, or via injury, was the correct call. But judging from what we've heard from the Post, @Edge said it best: we should've dealt with this issue before it came to exist. Him throwing a tantrum should not have been a surprise to anyone, and the FO had to know it was very possible he won't make the starting line up when the season starts.

First VK is a baby bitch.

Seconds VK he would’ve been killed tonight against the cabs. But the house there will be 3 to 6 fights tonight.

Third on VK had to do was play it doesn’t games in the AHL and get caught up on merit or do you do injury. If not there will be a trade to move him or someone else to give him a spot.

Fourth sadly I don’t know how the locker room will except him in the Rangers organization let alone in another organization.

To add, until Andersson shows ANYTHING worthwhile at the NHL level you can argue that he may never have been ready because he just isn't a good player. That was just a shitty pick

Lias is 22, lest we forget, and has already played nearly a hundred NHL games. He’ll end up being the third line center a lot of us thought he’d be.

Maybe with time but

Laf-Zib-Kravtsov
Panarin-Strome-Kakko

Is not a top 6 worth it’s salt - 3 vets and 3 green players. We have a lot of hopes for Kakko and Laf, but if we want them to succeed we need to put them with players who know how to compete.

I don’t agree. I think that 6 looks extremely compelling and balanced.
