On the main boards Kravtsov there was a post that said there was a report that Vitali leaving had nothing to do with Drury but the player wants to play in the top 6 and realized with Panarin, Kakko, Lafrenier and Kreider ahead of him that he would not get a chance.
For a very unpopular trade proposal read no further.

To Montreal: Lafrenier, Gauthier and their choice of either Tarmo Reunanen or Libor Hajek.
To New York: Montreal’s 2022 and 2023 1st round picks unprotected.

Welcome back Kravtsov.

I just spit out out my beer reading that awful trade proposal.

If we brought back Boo Nieves short term that trade might just pay off big time.

I'd still see of we could get two 7ths, a 3rd and a 5th included in the deal.

Carp reported this morning the incident between Drury and Kravstov was much worse than Staple reported. Carp claims very solid sources read Staple’s article and they called Carp(blew up his phone) to tell him the incident between Drury and Kravstov was more uglier than Staple reported. The October 2019 incident when Kravstov went back to Russia on October 25.

According to the TSN 'insiders' Ottawa looking for top9 help... will use picks/prospects.

They wouldn't give up a 1st for Kravtsov would they? Greig? Accumulate all the Pain in the Ass players.

Ottawa only has their 1st in 2022, they aren't moving that.

AZ has Colorados 1st. Would they be willing to part with that?

I still feel like this needs some context, like did Drury go to tell Kravtsov they wanted him to stay and put some pressure on and Kravtsov pushed back and was angry about his position and tht escalated with Drury into a shouting match etc etc

but all that said I'm not really a fan of basically everything I'm hearing about Drury at this point.

Results will speak for themselves in the long run but in the short run it doesn't look great

Without further details it’s pretty tough to pass judgment on whatever happened there. Doesn’t change my perspective that Kravtsov is in the wrong here.

I keep reading things about people not liking Drury in his role for xyz reasons but maybe I'm missing something here. It seems like some perceived the operating of the org under gorts towards the end to be a little wishy washy with all the drama surrounding the team. People here were commenting that we looked like a shit show of an org. Drury has always been a no nonsense kind of guy and he's taking that into his role as gm and pres.

I'm in no way comparing him to lou from a standpoint of stature, but it seems like he is operating the org day to day in the same manner which is no bullshit, team/org first, I feel like this is a fair price for this (trade or contract) and that's what it's going to be if you deal with me.

I don't really mind it. People say Lou is a dinosaur but aside from cap management look at how he redirected the leafs in his time their from the standpoint of the organization ops and to credibility, then the man brought credibility to the shitshow Islanders almost immediately.

I have no issue for a pres and gm of a team to say this organization is important and you're not going to mistreat it or the other people involved in it, and after seeing the shitshow fallout from some of these picks and their attitudes it makes perfect sense that bobrov was fired and that Drury is taking an iron fist approach to how the organization will react when players try to angle against the org.

I have no issues w Drury at this point regarding how he is running the team (have some issues w player moves), and this situation is entirely on the bratty kid that ran away twice as leverage to be handed an NHL top 6 role.

15. Constant Krav-ing: Which brings us to Kravtsov. It can be, and is, true that the kid deserves some onus here. There is truth that he was told to go down and work on the conditioning that he lost with a preseason injury and to work his way back up to the NHL. All true. But if you saw Arthur Staple’s story in The Athletic the other day, well, there was a ton of truth in that, too. And in fact, very solid sources were blowing up my phone to say that the events of October 2019 were even uglier than they were described in that story. What a shame for and by all involved.

Someone needs to tell this story.

Agreed, especially on the need for more context. "Ugliness" in this case could be the fault of either side, and the hard-headed GM or the entitled brat are equally likely to be responsible.

They should leave Kravtsov's locker empty and name plate up all season long as a rally point on team unity.

I get the idea that Drury has that old school Joe Sakic kind of mentality. Drury was a very gritty player in his own way much like a Ryan Callahan will go through the wall kind of way of thinking and playing. Both Callahan and Drury wound up kind of as wrecks because of the way they played. I don't get that vibe from Kravtsov and this mommy/daddy thing and expecting to have your dream job more on being a high end draft pick than on working for it probably rubbed won't ruin my weekend Drury the wrong way. Kravtsov going back to Russia probably did ruin his weekend. There's shit here that makes neither look very good. A second round of desertion for what looked to be more of a conditioning assignment is a big f*** you to the Rangers organization and its fans though and a very good reason why this guy should never wear a Rangers jersey or a Hartford jersey again. So I have a f*** you for Kravtsov too. I don't care if he ends up on a shit team and his career takes a dive or he quits on that team like he quit on ours. I don't expect a huge return either. A 2nd rounder is about what I think we're going to get.

No chance. Ottawa drafted Greig and Boucher for the same reasons the Rangers drafted Cuylle and Othmann; to protect their young skilled players in the future.
