I'm probably not going to watch this one from work, but here's a GDT for it I guess. Moneypuck says Vejmelka vs Grubauer.
What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.
In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerYikes thats ugly...Dunn coasts right back into Grubauer's lap and doesnt cut off the passing lane with any degree of position or effort. Grubauer meanwhile is GLACIALLY slow reading the pass, actually drops to his left to cover the short side only to lunge back to his right well after the puck is already in the net. Just terrible.
Hey cool guess my Ignore list was lost when they reverted to a backup from 2023. I'll fix that right after this message.nothing gru can do about that goal if dunn accidentally defects it right to a utah player not even daccord would have done much about that.
Not sure if you're referring to the Utah goal or not, it was at the expiration of a Seattle PP so they had 4 forwards on with Dunn and all 4 forwards were deep. Honestly the timing of Kakko's deflected pass couldnt have been worse if he was trying. They hustled back and recovered nicely, but for Dunn doing little to nothing to cut off any sort of lane. The Kraken D sure like to go on adventures on the high seas in the o-zone.

Nah in general. I'm not blaming Dunn for the goal against in the D zone, the play broke down before that when the D leaving the offensive blueline and pushing just as the penalty was coming to an end and Kakko threw a hail mary to the middle of the ice. No need to be so desperate for offense in that situation.
This last goal however, not a pinch but a patented Dunn turnover again. I'm starting to get a bit pissed off with them now.
e: *If* the Kraken want to be in the playoff picture next year it is exactly these lazy, weak needless goals against they need to eliminate.
Team as a whole needs to play better offensively and defensively. What ever we do for next season if we replace gru or not i feel bad for who that goalie will be with the defense like this and the fans blaming said goalie on issues caused by the skaters.
I still don't know who I want to get bought out more. Bura or Gru?This is true. The team can be very messy and all over the place. I still don't think Gru look right, he definitely looks better post-AHL but the game still looks too fast for him now. Maaaaybe ride him out next season rather than buy him out but... not an easy decision.

Will take that puck luck.
I like Montour more and more as this season has gone out. Dunn has been flat out bad since his return. Not sure if he is still playing injured but his D has been pretty bad. With Montour, he makes mistakes but there is no lack of effort from him and he is willing to do what it takes. I really like that.
The D as a unit just stinks. Too many mistakes. You give Bylsma next year only if you are not that serious about winning. Same as not buying out Gru or Bura.
I'd trade Bura with retention rather than buy him out... is what I wanted to say. I didn't realize he has two years left, same for Gru. I checked it and the buyout hits are not too bad (compare with the never-ending pain if you bought out Stephenson - who thankfully has looked alive recently).
A lot of next season would really be predicated on just how aggressive the team is and if they are doubling down on making the playoffs. The cap space, like you pointed out, is no problem IF we plan to not be competitive and just "meh" our way through the season. In that case, we can just keep both of them for next season. But if the team wants to seriously compete, you can't have either of those on the roster. Gru will likely continue costing us games and Bura is not really a passable 3rd line player, let alone top-6.I'm still not convinced we'll save much of any cap space buying him out and replacing him to make it worth it. Cap is going up and so are players salaries even back up goalie costs will increase.
I rather buy out bura than gru honestly since we have way way better options within organization to replace him with. With gru well seattle might as well throw a dart on the dart board and hope which ever goalie that is can deal with the skaters being eh at times. I'm not holding my breath the replacement goalie is going to be any better.
Go take a nap. I promise you will have more games like this before the season ends ..I’m so tired after 3 days without sleep, can barely keep my eyes open. Saw the Montour goal and my brain is working too slow to see how it happened, even after replays.

One big glaring issue for me, is just the lack of a 1st line. Makes sense with the lack of talent but Beniers looks like he has stagnated and while Kokko has been a big help, neither those two nor Schwartz has the skill to drive play on that first line. Would be nice to have atleast one dominant line which can be trusted to generate offense when needed. Right now, we are not even close to that.
