Many here say he has improved which may be true but the little that I have watched I wasn't blown away by his so called improvement. The problem with Barron is that he is simply too soft. I hope he pans out.

He's been more engaged and physical than in years past and more physical than any other Habs D (other than Xhekaj).

He's trying to change his game and its not going to be seamless.

The first line has looked better with Dach instead of Slafkovsky in my opinion. I think it's better to keep the first line intact and give Slafkovsky and Newhook a chance to gel to see if we can get a 2nd line working.

Im afraid he’ll look too much for Newhook or Yoel instead of shooting.

This board would have been a nightmare if we would have drafted Wright. He hasn’t really broken out. Definitely not the big number 1 center we were expecting yet.
Yeah. I had Wright as my pick that year over Slafkovsky and Cooley, and it's not looking very good. Still lots of time for him to find an impact game at the NHL level though.

Montreal fans are very impatient. They would want results already.

Kent dodged the Dubois/Wright bullets like Keanu in the matrix.

I think it's the way to go. Worst case scenario is that slaf struggles and our 2nd line isn't great, which is where we are now anyway. But we'd still have a 1st line that we know produces. Lots of options before breaking up your one offensively potent line.
The first line was excellent with Slaf as well though. I also have my issues with Dach at 2C considering how bad he is on the dot, but also that he simply wasn't productive there. I think they might be hoping Slaf brings a little life to the 2nd line more than anything.

Isn't his brother Morgan Barron fairly physical? I don't recall many sets of brothers where one is physical and one isn't.

I would have preferred Slaf with Dach on the 2nd line, than forcing Slaf to carry Newhook/Armia who have looked terrible together for 10 games now.

Yes, he did a scrum interview and said he's 100%. No pain or anything.

It looks like lines will be:

Caufield-Suzuki-Dach
Armia-Newhook-Slafkovsky
Anderson-Evans-Gallagher
Brutal. Hard for Slaf to produce with what are effectively two anchors on his line. He should be back on the top line.

No putting Slaf back on the first line is stupid.
Agreed but its mostly because I don't think he's good enough to do anything on his own yet , I will be very happily surprised if he looks great tonight , hope so.

Its more an indictment on Slaf than anything else. Realistically he should have the ability to look good away from them if he's that guy
