Most nights is agree with you on kc. But what stood out so bad tonight? He wasn't good on the PP, but effort wise what play(s)?

Prime example. On the short handed goal, lost the battle on the boards due to poor effort which led to the breakaway. Losing board battles all game. Effort is there when puck is on his stick.

Don’t remember the Jets giving up as many odd man rushes as they did in this game. Poor D pinches with no F support. They need to tighten that up before playoffs.

My priority would be getting a RHD that can play up or down the lineup, hopefully pushing Pionk down the lineup. A better DeMelo, if that player is available.
You mean like a Chris Tanev type player?

I'd kindly settle for a tall glass of milk.
Billeck went through the Jets games and they are apparently 19-4-3 when ehlers starts on the 1st line (not sure how he's doing with games like Carolina or Buffalo though)

I agree with you though the top line wasnt bad tonight. It'd be ridiculous as you say.

[Updated] The Jets have 155 losses vs 102 wins whenever Ehlers plays more than 17 minutes a game over the course of his career; including the playoffs. For context, they've won 365 games, and have lost 256 times since his rookie season.
  • 75 goals, 72 assists in 257 games
  • -13
  • 830 shots, 9.1 shooting percentage
Also, specifically the games he's played more than 17 minutes in 2023-24:
  • 2 goals, 7 assists in 17 games
  • +/- 0
  • 60 shots
  • 10 losses, 7 wins

Idk if all giveaways are necessarily chalked up to effort. But i guess was more asking on the egregious defensive plays which are pretty typical for him.
Yeah could just be me looking for it because it's been talked about a lot lately. On the powerplay where you want him to be a main guy it seemed like he was throwing the puck away a lot.

Can’t win them all.
I’m okay if we have a ratio of 2wins out of every three games through the rest of the season

of course they tied it
Did you really think we could count on San Jose for anything?. On another note, I really want avoid Dallas in the first round. They are scary good. Stankoven, Wyatt Johnston and Harley are 3 of the best young players in the league. Throw in Robertson, Hintz, Benn, Pavelski, Heiskinen, Tanev , Ottinger and whatever other big name they add at the deadlime and they are one scary team. Perfect mix of vets and youth with a ton of talent to spare. Plus they have our number this year.

- The Jets played well enough to win but it wasn't their greatest game. If not for the unlucky tip goal, I think we would've won.

- If Helle had played his normal game, we definitely would have won. Two weak sauce goals didn't help.

- I'm gonna say the same thing about Connor. While most of the other Jets were working hard on the forecheck and the boards, every time the puck would come to Connor, he'd lose it almost immediately and the puck would exit the zone.

- There's one thing I noticed that Stanley is really good at. His shot accuracy from the point is actually pretty good. Now if he could just score..

- Why did it have to be Pionk standing there at the end of the game? Why couldn't it be Scheif or Monahan? Dacccord could've read War and Peace by the time Pionk set himself up to shoot.

- I fully blame Dan Robertson for the Jets losing. As soon as he tells us the last game the Jets played without getting a penalty, they get a penalty.. and Seattle scores.

What did they do with the leftover pizzas and popcorn? Concession numbers are going to be down. Time for fans to step it up next game!!

Coelacanth of the game:

#17 Adam Lowry

Scored a beauty and added points. Very strong game.

I don't normally post the COTG award after a loss, but who is writing the rules here anyway? :)

KC is such a limited player but he just needs that one chance to break a game open.

In all honesty I think it's more about him then who else they have on the line with him and Mark.

He needs a nz driver which is why Names has been fine in that role imo. But his limitations really limit what you can do with that top line if he's one it.

We've seen Mark have a lot of success the last few years with combos that didn't include KC. Mark doesn't need a driver but Mark with KC does.
The thing is, there are lots of players like him in the league. Soft and not strong defensively, but can fill the net.

There's also players who are great defensively and physically but can't score to save their lives.

They both have value. You can complain about them and try and change them, or, you can hope the team uses them in the right way.

Players who do it all are unicorns.

I appreciate what Connor is and though I think there is room for improvement I'm so glad we have him.

Last night he did like 8 frustrating things (5 of them on the same pp) but then he scored a goal.
